Questions & Answers

Terre N : Does this work with the D5100? What other parts/pieces do I need?LARRY A : I have not used my EP-5 power supply connector yet. Unfortunately, I am not familiar with the D5100. I am still waiting for the EH-5A AC adapter so I have not used the EP-5 power supply connector. Sorry that I couldn't help.ACCOUNTS P : Yes, we have two of these for our D5100s here at the college where I work. You also need the EH-5A adapter (or a generic equivalent if Nikon hasn't fixed their supply issues).JOHN J : just plug it into your power supply cable. it works!WAYLON R : This will NOT work with the D5100. You will need the EP-5a adapter, which looks almost exactly like this. The Desc for the EP-5a on this site does not mention the D5100, but according to Nikon it will work: I can't post links, but go to Google and search "nikon d5100 compatibility system chart" and it should be the second link - the System Chart for the D5100. With that being said, you will still need the AC adapter to go along with it. It looks like Adorama only has the EH-5b

my issue is the piece that connects to this is out of stock so I cannot even try this out until I get that. that is very dissapointing. also this setup was kind of expensive

[$] for a product that cost ~3$ to make

I don't have the product. I'm pretty sure I can make the same thing by myself for less than 10 times the price it's sold by Nikon. Same thing with the EH-5 AC adapter that cost $130+ and it costs to make one of these no more than $10. I can't believe the prices Nikon puts on these accessories.

Saves battery power

The products functions as it should. It takes place of the battery in the Nikon D60 camera when editing pictures on the memory card; thereby, reducing power loss in the battery.

Just an adapter

This is only an adapter. The power supply EH-5 fits directly into the D80 etc, but you need this adapter to connect the EH-5 to the D40 and D60. It's sold separately because you only need this one for D40/D60. Very usefull when cleaning CCD, or when connected to a computer for a long time.

Usable, But Too Pricey

I adore Nikon SLR camera products for their reliability and quality; however, the price of the AC power accessories for my particular camera (D40)is ridiculous. It baffles me why users must purchase the adapter and power source accessory separately; neither is worth one cent without the other.

When connected to the AC adapter EH-5, the EP-5 connector allows you to power the camera directly by simply inserting the power connector into the battery chamber. This applies to Digital SLR cameras that use the EN-EL9 rechageable battery (D5000, D3000, D60, D40x, D40)
