D800 power connector

I use this with the AC adapter in Take Your Own Photo Booths at weddings and events. I use a remote radio trigger and lights and power the camera for five hours at a time. Used to use a D700 with the same arrangement.

EP-5b also needed is an EH-5A ti supply

Design is not he best, the AC adapter should plug directly into camera like the D300. This adapter goes in battery slot and hangs out bottom while in use, rubber grommet in bottom of D7000 allows wire to come out, but still not great design. A side plug would be more ideal. It works if you have the power brick.

Did not work with my Nikon D800

Don't know why this product would not work with my D800. The EH-5 was not the problem and I tested it on my voltage meter.

Questions about this item:

Rrrrrrrr B  Will this fit a nikon d5200?
MARK S  No, you will need the EP-5A which fits the D5200. The EP-5B fits the D600, D800 and D7000/D7100.
Rrrrrrrr B  Thanks mark. Maybe adorama mixed up the photos but when I look at the battery contacts in the picture for the ep-5b they look like they fit the 5200. The ep-5a pics show three flat wide contacts that don't look like they fit, this is why I asked. Anyway, I appreciate the input. Have you bought the ep-5b? Is that why you know it fits a 5200?
Shopper  What other devices should I use with this to connect to AC source?
GORDON D  The Nikon EP-5B hooks up to the 'Nikon AC adapter EH5a' which allows you to connect your camera to AC power. I use it for long duration time-lapse photography when AC power is available.
