Nikon MH-61 Battery Charger for the EN-EL5 Rechargeable Battery.

The charger works fine but the good folks at Adorama set me the one with a 220 Volt European outlet plug. No mention of that in the discription so I just cut it off and replaced it with a US 120 volt male recepticle. Works fine now after spending $3 for the plug.

Thanks to the reviewer that explained the pilot light codes. Simple yes but no green for charged? No red for overtemp? One Amber for everything. Glad I didn't pay much for it. Many Many more feature rich units are available.

The battery charger works really good. The camera I bought didn't include a separate charger. It is nice to have a way to charge my spare battery while still having my camera available to use. The one thing I would change about the MH-61 is to get rid of the long electrical cord and have the charger plug directly into a socket.

First, I can't believe Nikon didn't already include this with the camera, instead they supplied a charger that connects directly to the camera and then the outlet. And when I travel with this camera I won't want to have to plug the camera into an outlet, I'd rather just plug the battery into the outlet to charge.. Also, I cannot believe Nikon did not have the foresight to include a charger that had extendible outlet prongs instead of going with a separate cord attaching to the charger....more to lose and possibility of mixing up cords and chargers.... Very disappointed in Nikon

I like the review from 'elp'. There is one setting that is not described. What happens when there are NO indicators lit? I happen to have two of these chargers and I always pick up the wrong one. I think this means the power supply inside the unit is dead. Since I can't get into the unit, I can't troubleshoot the power supply. The other unit I give 5 stars to as it does work. This one does not. Forgot how I came across the 'bad' unit, but I am in the process of hacking it appart to see what makes it tick. More later when I find the problem. Probably a 'fuse' that opened when something shorted the output pins.

The MH-61 facilitates charging EN-EL5 batteries external to the camera. It charges the batteries more quickly than the stock (in-camera) charger.

This charger allows you to use one battery while another is being charged. The short time it takes to obtain a full charge (2 hours) is more than sufficient for keeping two batteries charged while traveling on vacation. I see no faults in this charger. I also have a Nikon D70s that takes an EL-3a batter which as a similar charger. It has been working pefectly for four years.

The Nikon P500 does not come with a battery charger as it has the ability for the battery to be recharged in the camera. I got the charger because I prefer not to charge the battery in the camera but I can charge two batteries at the same time using the camera and charger if I feel I may need the backup battery. I was surprised at how fast I received the charger since I live out in California. I have always been very happy with any products I have ordered from Adorama.com.

This charger works just fine and there is nothing to complain about. It's fast and reliable. Few words about light indicator: glows (battery not inserted) - charger plugged in, ready to work blinking (battery inserted) - battery recharging glows (battery inserted) - charging is complete, battery is full, ready to be removed flickers (battery inserted) - temperature is outside the designated range or there is a battery malfunction - unplug the charger immediately!

This product does just what I want it to do: makes a spare battery quickly available if I need it. On the other hand the design is a bit awkward and bulky with its long electrical cord. I much prefer the deisgn of my old Panasonic Lumix's charger. It is one piece, simple, compact, and has no addditional cord. NOTE TO ADORAMA: Show the cord in the product photo on your website.

The Nikon MH-61 battery charger seems easy to use. However, I would have liked to have a little more documentation with the product -- for example, an explanation of what the color of the light indicator means.
