Questions & Answers

Shopper : can I use the UR as an adapter to use Cokin P filter holder?WILLIAM M : I am not sure about that but I doubt it. It is mainly a spacer to push the wide angle out the proper distance from the file plane and keep the rear elements from hitting the camera. It may work on the wide setting but if you zoom it the lens goes out past the end and would hit your filters. So maybe at wide only it would do the trick if you found a cokin adapter that fit it. The outside diameter is 2 1/8 inches. Hope that helps.STAN O : I am quite certain that a Cokin P adaptor CANNOT be used directly on the front of the UR-E22 adaptor. The threads are not designed for standard filters, only for attaching the WC-E75A converter. The Cokin P adaptor CAN be used in the front threads of the WC-E75A wide conversion lens, which I believe uses a standard 77mm filter thread. Other filters like a circular polarizer, ND filter can also be used. The wide angle converter will widen the focal length however. This system works pretty well.
Shopper : Why Did You Choose This?DAVID C : Needed for the wide converter, nothing else to say.

It is not meant as a filter adapter per se. It has a different thread pitch than standard 52mm filters. Keep in mind folks this is a single purpose item: Per Nikon, "The UR-E22 is an Adapter Ring that is required for use with the WC-E75A Wide-Angle Converter Lens to attach it to the camera".

for $49 you get....nada

I agree with the previous review: for $49, you get a cheap plastic tube whose threads won't mate with the 52mm filter(s) it was designed for.

Well made.

This mounts to the camera in order to mount the Nikon wide angle lens accessory for the P7000. It is only the adapter and I called it a lens "accessory" as it allows the wide angle glass to mount up to the built in lens and is not actually a self contained piece of glass. For the "prosumer" P7000 it is quite clever and makes sense as it gives you more creative control. I hope that Nikon does a telephoto based on the same concept.

Does not seemto be a standard thread.

I have a new P7000 and purchased the UR-E22 Adapter Ring to be able to mount filters. 1. It is plastic. 2 It looks like it will mount standard 52mm but the thread will not mate up.

The URE22 Lens adapter is used to connect the WC-E75A Wide conversion lens on to the Coolpix P7000 camera.
