Great if I could use it with my D90

This would be a great addition to my d90. Please make it compatible.

It just doesn't make sense why would they sell this garbage now but there is no app for OS. For short it's useless and will not recommend this product unless you have money to burn.

Awkward to Set-Up and Use for iOS, But It's a Must-Have Accessory

I purchased this to use with a Nikon Df and iPad Air 2 and iPhone 6. Finding the correct "WMU" app on iTunes required a phone call to Nikon customer service, and setting it up to get a solid wi-fi connection was a minor pain. Once connected, it works pretty well, but I've encountered several dropped connections while trying to transfer photos from my Df to the iOS devices. Overall, it's awkward to quickly set-up and use, and connections are sometimes unreliable. But when it's properly set-up and connected, it works fine... And you have to have it if your camera doesn't have built-in wi-fi.

Very good product

As soon as I received the mobile adapter for my D7100, I first downloaded the Wireless Mobility app to my iPhone 6, then I attached the mobile adapter to my camera. I paired up the adapter to my iPhone and then started the app. Almost immediately, the pictures I have stored on the micro SD card in the camera all began to appear on the phone. It was easy to navigate thru all the pictures and selected a few to download to my iPhone. It was a piece of cake. I'm very glad I purchased this mobile adapter. Thanks, Nikon!

Trouble Connecting& Staying Connected

I wouldn't recommend this product ever. It was great at first up until I actually started to need it. The thing with this is that it is IMPOSSIBLE to stay connected long enough to download photos UNLESS you're using the "Take Pictured Using Smart Device" feature. Then it works great, and that's the only reason I didn't give it 1 star. However, when trying to download photos you've already taken onto your phone, forget about it. This utility requires many, many more updates until it is actually worth the price. I would say that a good price for this would be half of what it is, since it only does half of what it says.

DO NOT GET THIS PRODUCT! thus is not worth the money, the connection is absolutely horrible and if you want to take a picture using your phone the camera just zooms in and out for five minutes and then takes the picture long after the right time. to sum up, EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING AND A HORRIBLE PRODUCT!!!!

Must have accessory!

I bought this a few days after I got my Nikon D3200 and I am extremely happy! It is very easy to use! It plugs right in to the port on the side of the camera. It's small and barely noticeable! Not near a computer? No problem! Just open the companion app, select the pictures you want to transfer, and download them directly to your smartphone! Want to take pictures without touching the camera? Easy! Just tap "take photos." You see the camera view! I love this device and recommend it to everyone!

Good, just need to know the trick

Like I have read before, you MUST put in airplane mode and then select the Nikon Adapter as your Wi-fi. Makes all the difference in the world. NO CRASHES!!

Wifi that works

This device is really three devices in one and does one thing you can't do with any other accessory. First off it is a remote trigger for your camera but along with that it is a remote view finder at the same time. Secondly it allows you to transfer photos to any other wireless device and the app allows you to view or transfer photos already on the camera. Last but not least it allows you to geo tag (GPS locate) your photos via your smart device. (My smart device is an Android device.) It does all these well and was simple to connect. It took longer to unfold the instructions and find the English section than to actually connect. Just one word here - check the app and see how you are connected. I thought I was connected via WPS and I was just connected without security. It is easy to remedy by adding a password to the device (remember it if you do) but if you don't anybody may be able to connect and do what they want to your pictures. Its very nice that they include a wrist strap with it as the thing is tiny and would be easy to loose. The strap allows you to tie it to your camera strap to save dropping it. Which brings me to the best part of the secondary design which is the case. It is designed to attach to the narrow part of the camera strap. You can put the case on and attach the device in a way it will stay attached and handy when you need it but out of the way when you don't. The only downside is it holds the connections cover open when installed, which for me is a very minor annoyance.

We all know Nikon's focus is on the quality of their optical products which no doubt are great or simply the best. However! I am disappointed with this WU-1a product because it simply doesn't allow download the original files from the camera at once and instead reduce its size and delete the embedded EXIF info. You have to download one by one! if you want to download the original file. Nikon should try hard to adapt the products to wireless. The competitors are doing this!

won't work

I bought a Coolpix P7800 rather than a Canon because of this device. The website indicated that it would work with the P7800 and my version of android on a Motorola Atrix. when I try to install the app from Google Play I receive a message that it is not compatible with my phone. I am not about to buy another phone for this. I feel cheated.

Money Down the Toilet

I've owned this product for less than five months and had problems right out of the box. I am using this product with a D7100 and noticed immediately that when connected to the camera via the mini usb on the camera, the WU-1a was loose. Although this concerned me I was in need of a remote to take photos of myself for publications. I have an iPhone, and had issues with losing my connection if I had to move me camera to get a different angle. Because I needed to see the framing, I suffered with the frustration of continuous lost connections. I have only used this product about 1-2 dozen times and when I again needed to take photos for a deadline, the unit is not lighting up at all. I have submitted a request to Nikon to see if it falls under the warranty. I doubt it will be repaired/replaced. When I purchased it I expected to be able to use it for at least a year...1-2 dozen uses does not justify this purchase. I hope a different vendor releases a better product...sigh. You get what you pay for I guess... By the way NIKON, I typically get paid for my reviews but to forewarn other consumers I felt obligated to provide others with honest feedback. If this item is replaced or fixed by NIKON without a hassle I will certainly update this review or create a new one underneath.
