OLYMPUS 14-35MM F/2 E ZOOM LENS

Try to design the best possible lens, and you just may end up with something that resembles the OLYMPUS 14-35MM F/2 E ZOOM LENS, the flagship of the ZUIKO DIGITAL series. Think we’re exaggerating? Consider:

Product Highlights

  • The large f/2.0 aperture is the world’s first for a standard zoom lens. That means you can be on the cutting edge of pure light-grabbing power just by fitting on this lens.
  • Quick, agile, stealthy autofocus is an understatement. The Olympus 14-35 lens features Olympus’ SWD-driven AF system for superior performance.
  • Zoom versatility lets you handle the creative freedom necessary to cover just about any photographic even in existence.

In short, the Olympus 14-35 lens is a serious lens for people who are serious about their photography. How serious are you?

Learn about the OLYMPUS 14-35MM F/2 E ZOOM LENS

“So what,” you’re thinking, “I already know that Olympus Zuiko Digital lenses are awesome! Why do I need this one?” Well, because this is the world’s first standard zoom lens to feature a large f/2.0 aperture, which extends your photographic capabilities. But that’s not the only thing that makes the OLYMPUS 14-35MM F/2 E ZOOM LENS both a professionally brilliant and surprisingly fun lens to use. There are other details, from the imaging performance to the autofocus, that help make it what it is: an instant boost to anyone with great photography ambitions. But we at Adorama don’t like to skimp out on the details, so let’s explain why:

  • The big aperture at f/2.0 is kind of a big deal. Not only was it the first of its kind on a standard zoom lens like this, but having a lot of aperture power is essential for achieving a lot of things that ordinary cameras might not be able to achieve. This Olympus 14-35 lens uses its aperture to grab clear images, even when working in low-light situations: it’s a big aperture, after all, that lets the Hubble telescope see distant galaxies. Not that we’re saying you should shoot galaxies with the Olympus 14-35 lens, but you get our point: aperture is important to photography back here on earth, as well.
  • No detail is forgotten. Not in the flagship lens of the ZUIKO DIGITAL series of lenses. That’s why we here at Adorama are so confident you’ll enjoy this lens. There is reliable splash- and dustproofing, a large, petal-shaped hood and even a polarization filter control window. If the Olympus 14-35 lens were a car, it would be a high-performing sports car. But not because it’s flashy or spectacular to look at; no, we’re talking about the little details that boost its performance and separate this lens from the pack.
  • Fast autofocus. To continue the sports car analogy, you would expect a sports car to have a spectacular engine. Well, in lenses, you might say that the “engine” is the autofocus, and here with the Olympus 14-35 lens, the engine is fast. The autofocus for the ZUIKO DIGITAL series is actually one of the fastest around, thanks to Olympus’ exclusive SWD autofocus system. There’s also a mechanically interlocked manual focusing mechanism, which allows you to customize your focus if you don’t want the autofocus doing everything for you.
  • Detailed design also counts the lenses inside, including 18 lens elements in 17 groups, which then include an ED lens and an aspherical lens. The result of all of this craftsmanship? Clear photographs with minimal aberrations and ghosting.
  • Plenty of zoom versatility thanks to the zoom range equivalent to 28mm - 70mm on a 35mm camera lens. There’s plenty you can zoom in on here, but you’ll also be able to zoom out for beautiful portraits and handling of live events.

Can you do better than the OLYMPUS 14-35MM F/2 E SYS ZOOM LENS? We highly doubt it. There’s too much aperture, too much autofocusing power, and too much fun to be had when you use this lens.
