Just getting started with using it. Other than being pretty heavy when it and the camera body are supported by the strap around your neck, it could very well be my primary, all around lens. It is fast and being able to use the full telephoto and still have a decent depth of field is great. Sharpness thus far has been very good.

Love this lens! I use it on my E-5. Focus is quick. Pictures are tack sharp and clear. Even though it is a bit heavy - still my go to lens even on day long photo treks outdoors.

I'm primarily a studio professional photographer, although I do shoot some location and the very occasional event. In my personal work, I shoot a lot of landscape, nature and architectural work. I'm also a Canon user with a 1ds mkII and 5d mkII. The 35-100 is the most used lens in my bag. The images it produces are sharper and it has far less difficulty with vignette when wide open than my Canon 70-200 IS LII. The bokeh is amazing. When I need a very sharp image, I find myself reaching for this lens and my e5 and away from my Canon's since acquiring this lens. It's exceptional sharpness, contrast, color and bokeh make it an easy lens to choose and rely on. It's a shame Olympus chose to focus their efforts around a 4/3 platform. With their ability to design and build optics they would have built an amazing full framer. I realize that it's more difficult to build a full frame optic, but this lens is so clearly superior to anything it might compare to, it's sad to see them limit themselves with this format. The only limitation this lens has is the camera body it's attached to.

The images it produces along with the E-5 are superb , incredibly detailed throughout the frame and at all apertures. The bokeh this lens makes is fantastic as is color and contrast which are a step up from HG glass such as 12-60mm. Use on my E5, attached most of the time. nice balance, not too heavy and very fast and great pictures. A good quality Zuiko lens.

Easy and reliable auto-focus. Stunning portraits. The wide aperture is great for low-light non-flash conditions. This lens is beautiful. It is big but not too big i.e. you don't have to rely on a monopod.

I believe the lens could be a little bit more focus ready.

An extremely capable lens. I have found contrast and sharpness to be very good. Build quality is also high. Physical size is about the same as you would find in a good 70-200 lens of 35mm equivalence, so no big 4/3rd's advantage with this lens. Weight is also hefty, but that should be expected with such a fast lens using good glass. Too bulky to use as a 'walkabout' lens, but worth it's weight when performance counts. A favorite to shoot with.

This high-end, high-performance telephoto lens possesses a fast f2.0 aperture for shooting beautiful low light pictures or impressively capturing subjects with the background out of focus. Four (4) ED glass lenses and one (1) super ED glass lens produce superior optical clarity and contrast from one edge of the image to the other. This all-digital lens features a built-in CPU that directly communicates with the camera's software for exceptional control and accuracy, and also stands up to the elements with all-metal components and rubber seals toprotect against moisture and dust so you can use it practically anywhere.
Please note: To use the Zuiko Digital 35-100mm f2.0 Zoom with the EVOLT E-300, the camera body must be upgraded to firmware version 1.3. Older versions of the firmware may have sporadic freezes with this lens. Visit http://www.olympusamerica.com/e1/sup_firmwareupdates.asp for upgrade instructions
