I use the camera with the optional VF-2 viewfinder. My style of shooting us typically that of street photos. The shutter lag is a weeeeee bit long, so occasionally I miss shots, but for what it is (super compact), what it can do (low light capability, good image quality), this is a sure winner. The micro four-thirds format also has a very short flange distance, which allows us to adapt many high quality lenses to the camera (including the legendary Leica M-lenses).

After giving up my film SLR's for digital, I was stuck with compact P&S or beasty DSLR's. The Olympus E-P2 is compact but gives me the ability to go back to shooting with a prime lens. I bought the 17mm lens with the body and am looking forward to the Olympus 45mm coming soon. The only drawback-I had to buy the optional viewfinder to give me that "old time" photog feeling.

I use this camera for hobby but also as a Search & Rescue Technician and as an Animal Rescue Technician. Weight and size are critical due to other gear I carry. I reluctantly switched from my Canon 7D system (have owned Canon since the F-1 days) and I am THRILLED. The size and weight area a joy, and the quality is superb. Not sure I like losing the electronic viewer for flash, but hey, the rest is great. Have the 75-300 zoom (150-600 equivalent) which is insane!

The best value for a compact cam

E-P2 Digital Camera: The stylish retro black metal body of the new E-P2 may be reminiscent of a traditional rangefinder - but there's nothing traditional about this powerful new camera from Olympus. The E-P2 is a 12.3-megapixel interchangeable lens camera, and it blends the high-quality still images of a DSLR with High Definition (HD) video, stereo Linear PCM audio recording and in-camera creativity - all inside an ultra-portable, easy-to-use body. The E-P2 also brings a new twist to the PEN lineup: an accessory port which accommodates the optional VF-2 electronic view finder or external microphone adapter (SEMA-1).
M.ZUIKO DIGITAL 17mm f2.8: A wide-angle pancake lens with a convenient focal length (equivalent to 34mm on a 35mm camera) for shooting everything from landscapes and portraits to close-ups. A slim design with an overall length of just 22 mm ensures the camera remains compact and easy to carry even when the lens is mounted. With its digital-dedicated design and superior performance this lens maximizes the camera's performance for clear, high-quality imaging.
FL-14 Flash: The FL-14 is an easy-to-operate external flash with a design that matches the E-P1 Pen. With an equivalent GN (Guide Number) of 14, you can accomplish flash shooting with stable light and optimum brightness.
