Great handheld camera for beginners or for travellers always on the go. Very easy to use, unlike complicated functions on DSLRs, you just point and shoot and will be amazed with the image quality. With its sleek design, brings to mind vintage point and shoot cameras.

This is a tremendous camera for both travel and just having in the car around town. It seems sturdier than the E-PL5, and is very well balanced for discreet handheld shooting. The built-in processor offers a wide variety of well-designed features for JPG, basic enhancement, and BW shooting. I find that I need to spend less and less time in front of the computer when using this product.

I chose the Pen E-PL7 because I wanted a smaller camera without sacrificing the quality. Its small and light weight and I can pack it in my purse and take it anywhere. It would be a good camera for a novice photographer because of the many presets but the manual modes and the ability to use any of the Zuiko lens make it perfect for any photographer.

Great value and imagine quality. Seems to be made well. I'm just getting into creative photography and so far extremely happy with my purchase. Love having in body IS for some vintage lenses I have. Compact body is great for my hiking and day on the town trips.

The camera features many customizabe settings, coupled with fast auto focus. The size is small enough to carry around all day, and the build quality is very good. Other reviewers have complained that the door of the battery compartment is flimsy, but I don't think it's too thin. Overall, this is a great camera for those who are looking to upgrade from a point and shoot. The one thing that I'm not impressed with is the 40-150 kit lens the camera came with. I would have bought it with just the 14-42 lens if I could have.

Bought the Pen E-PL7 to replace an E-PM1 that was run over by a truck. It's a bit larger, but the full tilting display is an excellent feature and the image quality is outstanding. It is a perfect complement to my OM-D E-M10. Common batteries and flash equipment provide great flexibility and functionality.

Adorama fulfilled the order and its delivery was very timely. The camera works fine and delivers great pictures for the price given you have both the normal zoom and longer zoom lenses. The only thing I would have liked is to have metal mounting rings for the lenses, but at this price it's okay.

Camera takes great pictures. I like the vintage design. I was a little surprised it didn't have an automatic telescoping lens ( I think that is the term). That is how much of a beginner I am. There are many options that I am learning from YouTube videos, but so far so good.

I use this camera every day in NYC. I just put it in my coat pocket with it's M.ZUIKO ED 14-42MM F3.5-5.6 EZ and I'm ready for whatever comes my way. Earlier this year I took it with me on a trip to Ireland, opting to not take my E-M1 as I was interested in traveling light. The camera and lens did not fail me. I love it, when I'm not using me E-M1. I always pull the screen out 90 degrees and shoot from the waist and have not missed using a EVF at all.

What a surprise. As a photo hobbyist I could not ask for a better camera than the Olympus Pen. I take a lot of nature pics, and I am especially fond of black and white. This camera delivered what I wanted and much more. Its compact and goes with me everywhere. Battery life could be better.

Photography is a hobby to me, and since buying the Pen E-pl7, the hobby just got more enjoyable. Ease of operation was the most impressive feature to me and the Art menu, love it.

I upgraded from an E-PL5 to an E-PL7, and I couldn't be happier with the new camera. Some of the things I like about the E-PL7 compared to the E-PL5 include: - 3-axis IBIS is far more effective than the 2-axis IBIS in the E-PL5. - 0-second anti-shock to counteract shutter shock. - The control dial is around the shutter, where it is easy to use, not on the back as on the E-PL5 where it was more difficult to use and I was always accidentally rubbing it with my hand. - The menu button is moved away from the bottom right corner where I was also always accidentally pressing it. - The mode dial is stiffer, so it doesn't accidentally change to something silly like iAuto if it gets bumped putting it into a bag. - The LCD screen is a larger 3:2 aspect ratio and higher-resolution. - When using the touch focus feature, there is now a button to exit touch focus mode so I can use the buttons on the 4-way controller (e.g. exposure compensation). - Focus peaking is available when manually focusing (unfortunately, the only colour options are white and black). I was concerned the grip on the E-PL7 wouldn't be as good as the optional MCG-2 grip that I had on the E-PL5, and although it isn't quite as good, for my purposes it is good enough (and that's with the somewhat large/heavy 12-40 Pro zoom on the camera).

This is my first decent camera and it has been a joy to use. I enjoy that it is small enough to carry most places without having to carry around a DSLR. The photos that come out of it are great also.

Actually smaller than my Pen E-P3, but adds new screen and Wi-Fi. Grip is satisfactory, battery cover is very flimsy. Not at all like the other Olympus cameras I've owned. I do like the metallic body and lens mount. Image quality, like all the Pen series, is stunning. I would have preferred a built-in flash, but understand why it may not have been possible. I sometimes use a EVF, and can't add the flash supplied as well. Otherwise, without these 2 small flaws, the camera would rate a solid 5 stars, for value and performance.

I love capturing every day moments but am new to photography. My best friend actually recommended the E-PL7 to me. I instantly fell in love with the vintage look and after doing research knew that I had to have it. It's a great compact size and takes amazing photos. It's been my trusty companion this summer for all of my hikes and trips.

I reallly like the size of the camera; small enough to take about anywhete, yet large enough easily work the controls. I also like the fact you can add a viewfinder if you wish to. The build quality is pretty good and the picture quality is great. I like using along with my OMD as a back-up, and when I need or want something small and light, without giving up image quality.

Have PM1, PM2, PL/5. Love the PL/7 for the additional dial control on top and the in-camera HDR function. Love the look, grip and the way it handles. Bought the body case and the leather strap to go with it. Makes a professional looking kit of it. Tilt LCD is really trick. Wonderful form factor with wide zooms and primes. I can put it in a jacket pocket with a pancake lens on it. A real powerhouse in a small package. I love the way its part of a system like my OMD EM-5 so I only need one set of lenses and only need to learn one menu system. Great job Olympus. What will you do next?

It's not often you stumble across cameras like this. It's like a In several days of shooting (a few hundred frames) I haven't encountered an instance of "shutter shock." The improved shutter seems to have eliminated that particular issue. So I love this new capability that I have now. Camera is a lot smaller, friendlier to camera adverse people, looks classy, works and feels great (the body is part metallic construction). The functions on this camera are quite extensive, and not at all crippled like some other brands where they often over-simplify on models like this. So I haven’t lost much power or control over my E-M1, just some speed. After having this camera for the last 6 months I am upgrading to the Olympus OMD e-m5 ii. I have been so impressed with the shots that my Olympus e-pl7 has done and I have converted at least 100 people around me with the absolute great pictures it takes so effortlessly. My black PL-7 with the black 14-42 EZ pancake, black automatic lens hood, a brown leather half case with matching brown wrist strap is a very beautiful compact camera, which is not going to scare of the objects of your photographic passion. you rather going to face the challenges that people want have a closer look.

I use this EVF with my E-PM1 which was my primary camera before I got the E-M10. The viewfinder's screen is very small and hard to use when wearing glasses. The picture is pixelated and colours are washed out, however, better than having no view finder at all. I suggest getting one of the better models (VF-2 or VF-4). If you haven't yet bought the body, get an OMD as the integrated EVF is leagues better than this one.

I was very hesitant at first when I started the process of choosing a camera, I wasn't sure if this camera would be the right one for me. I've had it now for about 3 months and I have to say that I absolutely love this camera. I love that I can link it to my smart phone to take photos, the process of transferring photos to my desktop is simple and I love how well it takes the photos. I am not an expert at all in photography however, this camera makes it easy. I am always pleased at how well the photos turn out. I've been practicing a lot with Macro and this camera has been wonderful. The only thing that I think is missing from this camera would be the eye viewer. I do miss that but it is still a wonderful camera. I would recommend this to any avid photographer.

The only thing you are going to miss is a view finder - I have a VF-4 but this makes the camera much less compact - So maybe not the best camera for bright sunlight....

I have always had Olympus cameras since I bought my first camera when I was 11. This camera does not disappoint. I am loving this for its WiFi feature which makes it so easy to transfer photos. It takes great photos in most lighting situations, haven't used the flash attachment yet. Amazing photo quality and a lot of manual controls/ features for getting just the right settings. Super!

I have been so impressed with the shots that my Olympus e-pl7 has done and I have converted at least 100 people around me with the absolute great pictures it takes so effortlessly. I would recommend this as a starting camera if you want to give Olympus a try. The lenses are all able to be used with the higher versions of the camera's. The only reason I docked the camera is for the wifi connectivity with my cell phone. I couldn't get good connections without scanning it every time. I am not sure if it is my phone or not and I will see if the camera needs an update. All in all still a very good camera.

I've been a photographer for decades. As I grow older my cameras grow lighter. This Pen E-PL7 looked fun and interesting. Some of the controls are small and hard to read. But the camera is relatively fast and accurate. The weight is nice. I use off camera flash most of the time and this camera works well that way. There is more to learn, but it's fun. Love the prime lenses!

I Have been Looking for a camera for first time Photographers. I came across the the Pen E-PL7 and had a good review for people who want to just start / learn photography. I have a friend the has a different model and say's he loves his camera as well take's it every where he goes. I have now had mine for a month and love it! I have been very happy with the quality of photo's it has taken. The touch screen it easy to use and I so far have no problem navigating it to get the results I want. I purchased the kit (body and lens). Thank you Olympus for a great Camera and I would do it again if I had too!

I use the VF-3 with my E-P2. It has served me well thus far. I couldn't imagine using the camera in the sun without it. The image quality of the viewfinder is very good. As a person who wears glasses, this viewfinder is also good. It's easy to use even when wearing thick frames. A great feature introduced in the VF-3 is the locking mechanism that will keep the viewfinder attached to the camera unless you push the button in. If you shoot photos in rough conditions, this is a must have feature. For concert photography this is important, as you don't want your viewfinder flying off when someone bumps into you. The only thing that keeps me from giving it 5 stars is that the Diopter adjustment is just too easy to accidentally change. Luckily it's just as easy to change back.

Great little set up
By Mathew S.
This is my first decent camera and it has been a joy to use. I enjoy that it is small enough to carry most places without having to carry around a DSLR. The photos that come out of it are great also.
Shoot more, Computer less
By Craig
This is a tremendous camera for both travel and just having in the car around town. It seems sturdier than the E-PL5, and is very well balanced for discreet handheld shooting. The built-in processor offers a wide variety of well-designed features for JPG, basic enhancement, and BW shooting. I find that I need to spend less and less time in front of the computer when using this product.

Learn about the OLYMPUS Pen E-PL7 Mirrorless Digital Camera with 14-42mm 2R Micro Four Thirds Lens
In the days of photography yore, a camera was expected to do one thing: take pictures. My, how far we’ve come. That’s never more apparent than when you’re staring down the viewfinder of a camera like the OLYMPUS E-PL7 Mirrorless Digital Camera (BODY ONLY) - BLACK, a camera body so capable and so chock-full of features that it’s hard to believe that cameras used to require their subjects to hold still for a few moments. After all, this Olympus camera body features Wi-Fi capabilities, full HD 1080p video, 3-axis stabilization, and a full-time photography assistant. Okay, Adorama made that last one up. But the fact that it took you a second to figure that out is a testament to just what modern cameras like this Olympus E-PL7 camera body can do.
Olympus gives you all of the features above, all in a compact body. What else could you want from a camera like this? If it’s portable enough to take anywhere, it means you probably will end up taking it everywhere. And like we always say at Adorama, the best camera is the one you have with you.
From the Manufacturer
The latest model in Olympus's legendary PEN series wraps powerful photographic performance in an elegant skin. Leather and brushed metal accents draw inspiration from timeless Olympus designs, but features like ergonomic controls and a clever downward-opening monitor - for the best selfies ever - address the needs of thoroughly modern photographers.
The E-PL7 is a compact, interchangeable lens camera with a modern twist. Built-in Wi-Fi and the upgraded OI.Share app let you control the camera remotely and post images instantly, while spectacular image quality, a selfie-centric touch screen interface and numerous creative tools make this the perfect choice for aspiring photographers.
The Olympus Pen E-PL7 is the latest generation of one of the longest-running micro four-thirds sensor-based compact interchangeable-lens digital camera lines. The E-PL7 adds Wi-Fi and a flip-down high-resolution LCD monitor to this small, high-performance model that can shoot up to 8fps and has what Olympus says is the fastest AF system ever.
LCD monitor and Selfies
The E-PL7 is the first camera of its kind to feature an LCD that flips down so users can point the cameras towards themselves and compose the image without their arms getting in the way while shooting selfies. The monitor is touch sensitive but has a 1-second "selfie" delay so you can press the shutter release then move your hand out of the way in time for a more natural-looking photo. Selfie Interval shooting sets the camera to shoot three selfies at one-second intervals, so the subjects can strike different poses. When an electronic zoom lens is attached, the zoom automatically adjusts to the wide-angle position so that the user can quickly take their shot, incorporating the background as well.
Connectivity and sharing software improvements
The Olympus PEN E-PL7 includes built-in Wi-Fi, and connects to a smart phone via the Olympus Image Share app. Use your smart phone to quickly scan the QR code displayed on the camera's LCD; the smart phone syncs with the Wi-Fi network created by the camera. OI.Share shooting functions have evolved, making it possible to easily operate the custom self-timer for sequential and selfie interval shooting. Live View can be displayed on the smart phone, and the camera can be controlled by touching the smart phone display as if it were the camera itself, then users can send selected images to their smart device for immediate sharing on social media sites.
OI.Share has been enhanced with a number of remote shooting functions to expand the use of a variety of selfie options. Settings for single, sequential high and sequential low switching button, as well as controls for the timer bar and interval shooting, can all be easily accessed remotely on the user's smart phone. A new movie button lets you quickly record a movie at customized settings, including customized time length for each movie clip. Live Bulb has been added to OI.Share, allowing users the ability to control and monitor the bulb photography process on a smart phone while the shutter is released. Images can also be geotagged through the OI.Share App.
Image quality
The Olympus Pen E-PL7 has the same sensor and processor that debuted on their OM-D lineup, a 16MP Live MOS sensor and TruePic VII image processor. According to DXOMark's independent lab tests on other cameras using this sensor, image quality approached APS sensors.
Image quality is further helped by built-in 3-axis VCM image stabilization, which deubted in the OM-D EM10. This compensates for horizontal and vertical angular shifts (yam and pitch) as well as camera shake along the optical axis (roll) which is especially common in one-handed shooting (think Selfies). With the in-body image stabilization mechanism, camera shake can be prevented with any lens, allowing users to take beautiful, dynamic images, all the time.
Creative options
The PEN E-PL7 is equipped with several new creative features, including two new Art Filters. The "Vintage" art filter transfers everyday images into a photo that looks to have withstood the test of time, and "Partial Color" enables users to utilize an intuitive color ring to leave certain colors in an image while other colors are converted to monochrome to emphasize specific parts of a photo or subjects (18 colors are available). "Shade Effect" is a new art effect that adds bands of shadows on the left and right, or top and bottom of the image. Photo Story has also been expanded to include Layout mode for a photo-album-style arrangement. "Panning" is a new scene mode that matches the E-PL7's movement to the subjects so users can track it for the optimal panning effect. And finally, a new movie effect, "Old Film Effect," records video to look like old movies shot on film by adding noise, scratches and dust effects.
For photographers who prefer composing their shots using an eyepiece, the E-PL7 is compatible with the optional high-definition VF-4 viewfinder that provides an impressive 1.48x magnification, a 2.36 million-dot LCD, eye-detect to turn it on at the right time, and intuitive functionality that enables real-time viewing of shooting conditions.
