RICHARD D : Does this work for OLYMPUS E-P1 camera battery; Model No. PS-BLS1? thanks, RickPAUL B : Dear Richard D, The F-3AC is designed to plug into an AC outlet for input power and produces a 5 volt output at 1.5 Amps that comes out on a female full sized USB connector. It comes with a USB cable that has a male full sized connector on one end and a smaller USB type male connector on the other side that is designed to plug into the camera to charge the battery in the camera. I use it on my Olympus Tough TG-1 camera which uses an LI-90B battery. That battery is a 3.6 volt, 1270mAh battery, so the 5 volt output of the F-3AC is right to charge that battery. The BLS-1 battery is a 7.2 volt 1400 mAh battery, so unless there is circuitry inside your camera that steps the 5 volts output of the F-3AC up to about 7.8 to 8.0 volts it probably won't work to charge that battery in your camera. Of course it could only be possible for it to work at all if your camera has a USB interface with the small USB connector. If your camera came with an AC adapter that plugs into the camera via a small USB connecter, and if that AC adapter can charge your battery while it is in your camera, look on the adapter to see what it says its output is. If it says it is 5.0V, then your camera must have a way to step up that voltage to what your BLS1 battery needs for charging. If its output is greater than 5.0V, the F-3AC won't work. Of course, if your camera does not have an AC adapter or if it does not charge your battery while it is in your camera, it won't help you to know if the F-3AC would work or not. When I got the F-3AC I also got a UC-90 Lion Battery charger, so I can plug it into the USB connector of the F-3AC and then put an LI-90B battery in the charger to charge a battery outside of the camera, but that charger converts the 5V output of the F-3AC to 4.2V to charge the battery, so it would not work to charge your 7.2V BLS1 battery either. My guess is that my camera also has circuitry in it that converts the 5V to 4.2V. I hope that helps, Paul B.
Shopper : Olympus manual for my camera says to use this adapter for taking photos ac but use the f-2ac for charging only. Why does your description not agree with what the Olympus site says??LYNN J : cluelessANDREW R : I'm not sure I understand your question. The *manufacturer* clearly states that the F-3AC: "Cannot be used to power the camera when the battery is charging or not in the camera body."

This is a small but fast charger, does not get hot and it does the job without any glitches for my Tough 860 battery. not bulky either. Good companion.

No-Frills Battery Charger

It's a decent no-frills battery charger - it does its job. Made of plastic, it will run on anything from 100 volts to 240 volts so it can be used world-wide. Has a green light that goes on when it is charging, goes off when it is done and blinks if there is a problem. The plug-in cord is removable. A battery takes two to three hours to charge. The one thing it does not do is condition the battery by running it down to zero charge before recharging.
