Questions & Answers

Shopper : Is there a threaded hole where I can screw in a quick release socket? I need to be able to attache the bracket to a tripod.JUSTIN H : The bottom of the knob that screws into the base of the camera or the battery pack (if you have one) also contains a screw hole that will accomodate a quick release from a tripod. Therefore, once you mount the bracket to the camera or battery pack, you can mount the tripod quick release pad to the bracket knob. Hope that helps!RICHARD S : Yes, In fact the handle has 2- 1/4 20 threaded holes. One in the camera bracket and one in the hand grip. Also the Handle is removable from the bracket.IRIS T : Hi, the bottom screw that connects the bracket to the camera is flat so there is no threaded hole, however may be able to bypass (just not use) the bottom screw altogether and just screw in the quick release plate through the plate of the bracket and directly onto your camera. Good luck!
Doug R : When using this with a Nikon D3100 what power connection do I need between the camera and the flash??RICHARD S : The only flash cord that will work with this handle for your Nikon D3100 is the Vivitar FCNIK Flash Cord for Nikon Digital Cameras (Black). I don't think you will be using the contacts that are embedded in the handleANDREW R : This unit is for use with dedicated Olympus flash units and cameras it is not Nikon compatible.

Fits the bill

This is a simple, light but highly effective bracket, easy to put on and take off. The flash is mounted on the side, rendering a more pleasing image. It allows for infra-red remote sight to camera, so works great with my olympus epl-2. Very pleased with my purchase.

Compact,convertible and light!

I bought this with the ttl cable for my EP2 to use my strobe and unbrella for product shots. This is a quality product with one design flaw...The ttl cord plugs in directly over the camera. It does not lock in. Has not fallen out YET! But, truthfully, use this to hold a wireless remote strobe for fill with a small strobe or trigger on camera. And, have you looked at the prices for a quality flash bracket/grip?

Look professional

This is a very solid durable bracket. For sure it will achieve your goal. There is only one major proble is that when you turn the camera at 90 degree for picture, the flash also turn to either left or right and produce the shadow of people on another side. There is no way to adjust the problem. Wish you know the problem before purchase it! Check another one from the reallyrightstuff.com but with higher price.

Zowie!! Makes me look like a pro!!

Could use batteries to increase flash recovery speed, looks great with my evolt 500 setup. My wife said I looked very professional, (I'm not). Really made a difference in the end result. My pictures never looked better, I was surprised it made such a difference in how they looked. Thankyou Olympus.

A flash bracket allows you to move your external flash away from the camera. This will result in more evenly illuminated subjects and reduced red-eye effect.

Use with the Hot Shoe Cable (FL-CB02).
