This camera is quite compact and has an excellent zoom lens with great depth of field. It doesn't draw attention at parties. The tele extender brings up the magnification to 646 mm.
Two quirks. First, it's hard to find the manual focus (MF). Turn to wheel to P or A/S, push Menu, Camera Mode, AF to MF, and double click the Menu button. Second, Format is in the Menu under Set Up, and not Erase.
