Questions & Answers

Shopper : I really want this lens for my Olympus e-pl3... I'm wondering how this lens feels on a smaller camera body... does it feels too awkward or unwieldy?EDDIE M : This is personal preference question. However, I use this lens just fine on my E-PL2 with no feelings of awkard balance. Hope this helps!DANNY L : I bought this for my gh2- it's a very light lens so I don't think it would feel awkward.CHRIS C : I use mine on a Panny GX1. I don't think the combo is awkward at all, but it certainly will not fit in a pocket. I briefly had a 14 2.5 that when mounted could be stuffed into a cargo shorts pocket, but this lens is quite a bit bigger. Excellent lens - image quality, focus speed, it's superb.CARL R : I'm using this lens on a Panasonic Lumix GH2, which is slightly larger than the Olympus e-pl3. This lens looks and feels neither awkward nor unwieldy on my camera. I'm very well pleased with the lens.CARL T : I have the E-M5 - I have this lens and the 45 as well as the 12-50 kit lens. This 25 stays on my camera 90% of the time - outstanding lens!! Small, compact, and very lightweight - I give it a 9.8 out of 10!JAMES A M : I use the lens with a Lumix GH2 and I've been very pleased with both weight and performance.JAMES B : On my GH2 this lens functions and feels great. I'm sure a smaller profile camera would still look and feel just fine, however not as practical as a pocket camera. The resulting images will outweigh any aesthetic issues.PHU V : This lens is about the size of the kit lens. It's Well balance with my EPL1.ANDREW J : On my Panasonic GH2 it feels right at home - not awkward or unwieldy - almost a perfect match for that camera. I have a couple of much larger MFT lenses and the Leica is quite compact - not a pancake but still very comfortable. The Oly is about 25% lighter so the lens will feel a little bigger in comparison but the combo will still be awesome:D The optical quality is as exquisite as the ravers say! Highly recommended.STEVEN B : This lens is the version made for the micro 4/3 cameras and is an excellent fit for them. I use mine on an E-P3 and an E-M5. It is probably the best "normal" lens you can buy for micro 4/3.DAVID W : This lens is simply fantastic. The quality is superb. I think it would fit well on your camera without overwhelming it. It is my favorite lens by far. Dave W.FRED G : I own an oly e-m5 and my wife an oly e-pm1. No problems here regarding size or weight. In the end and without a thought it's my go to lensJoseph L. K : I have used this lens on an E-PL2 and felt that it was adequately balanced. I like the lens quite a bit. You might also consider the Panasonic 20mm f/1.7 pancake lens. That also works wellLOUIE T : I like it! it's on my GF1 .. Camera/lens combo feels more stable since I hold lens with left hand when I shoot with this set up. When I use my Panny 20mm I need mini table top tripod on GF1 and hold that for more stability.
lang b : is this len will work with olympus om d e-m5 or will need adapter?JOSEPH A : Great lens and mounts directly; no adaptrers neededRONALD W : This is a Micro 4/3 lens so it will work with the OM-D-E-M5 or any other Olympus Micro 4/3 camera. HAJIME O : The lens will work on OM-D without an adapter.GREGG M : You can use the Panasonic 25mm f/1.4 Leica DG lens on the Olympus OM-D E-M5 camera without any adapter. I have this camera and this lens, and it is an outstanding combination!RICHARD K : The lens works splendidly with the Oly OM-D. I use this combination every day. Wonderful lens, wonderful camera.RONNIE B : ...works with any MICRO 4/3 mount camera and that includes the omd-em5OMAR B : The em5 is a micro 4/3s mount camera. Anything and everything that says micro 4/3s will work without and adapterREID S : Yes, no adapter needed. I am using it on my Panasonic GH1. This is my sharpest lens. It is great. I highly recommend it. Four-thirds lenses need an adapter. Micro four third lenses will work without one. You can also get adapters for Nikon, Canon, Leica, etc. etc.Christopher L : The Panasonic 25mm f/1.4 Leica DG Summilux Aspherical Lens for Micro 4/3 System will mount on the Olympus OMD E-M5 without an adaptor and will work flawlessly. It is a terrific lens if you like the 50mm normal focal length (35 mm equivalent). The Olympus also has built in IS, so you can take advantage of that since the lens does not. One of my favorite lenses.Chris A : The lens will work great with the OMD E-M5. No adapter needed.CLIVE M : It works in all modes on my GH2 and GF1.GERDA R : I am not sure if it works with Olympus. you would not need an adapter since it is the same micro 4/3 Mine works only on Aperture Priority with my Lumixes. That might have been fixed with later products. I use it only with Aperture priority so I did not complain.SUSHAN M : Works perfectly on OM-D Em5 without any adapterANDY K : They both using micro four third mount, it will fit and work great.KYLE B : It works perfectly with the E-M5. No adapter needed. It's the primary lens I use on mine. CARL G : The Panasonic 25mm f/1.4 is a Micro Four Thirds mount lens and will work with all Oly Micro Four Thirds cameras without an adapter. It's a nice lens.STEPHANIE C : No adaptor needed. I use this lens with my e-m5 and it takes beautiful, sharp photos. It is my second favorite lens behind the 45mm f/1.8.PETER R : No adapter needed for Ny Panasonic m43s lenses on Olympus RYAN S : You will NOT need an adapter. It is the micro 4/3 version. I have the same combo, can't recommend it enough RyanPoming C : No adapter is needed. It will work by mounting directly.BRIAN H : Being a micro four-thirds (MFT) lens, it is directly compatible with all Panasonic and Olympus MFT cameras, including the E-M5. No lens adapter is needed. This lens does not have optical image stabilization (OIS), but will be stabilized on E-M5, due to in-body stabilization.BRADY F : This lens works great with an OM-D E-M5. This is the lens I leave on my OM-D 95% of the time. It is a fantastic lens. There is a similar lens for 4/3 cameras but this one is for m43 so no adaptor is needed.BRADLEY B : I have it on my E-M5 right now, and it works beautifully. This, or any Micro 4/3 mount lenses will work on the E-M5.JOSHUA G : It works great on the OM-D, no adapter required.
Shopper : Are there any regrets with making this purchase...buyers remorse?BYRON C : It is one of the most useful lenses available for Micro 4/3. I travel a lot and many attractions allow pictures without flash. An f/1.4 is very useful for this.LILIANA S : No regrets.. Great lens!Sean J : Not at all. This is my primary lens. Absolutely amazing!ELENA P : It's a phenomenal lens! Great bokeh!! That was my need and it satisfied it fully!JUERGEN H : None. The lens is obviously not cheap and has only a limited focal length, however, you know all of this before buying it. If you know why you would want this lens, then it is an excellent item to buy. For me this is an ideal lens to take pictures of my 7 months old son indoors.BENJAMIN R : No regrets here. It was not cheap, but it's my go-to lens for almost everything. Nice bokeh and I can take no-flash shots in a friggin' cave if I want.JOSEPH A : Great lens and no remorse; a bit pricey, however. The lens lives up to its name and the large aperture, coupled with size make this a must m4/3 lens for serious shooters.VIRGINIA T : Both my husband, myself and a fellow photographer all adore this "go-to" lens! The "fast glass" is exceptional and would recommend as the first additional lens to purchase! The Leica will not disappoint!PETER G : not as well built as a real Leica , but image quality is excellent and lens very light . no regretsANDREW P : Nope- it's a nice piece of glass. Good bokeh, it focuses fast in low light, and it's nice and sharp wide open. Now, it *is* pretty expensive, but M43 cameras are quite capable of taking advantage of the capabilities built into this lens. I guess it all depends on your budget and what is available to you- M43 devotees are well aware of the quality Panasonic builds into their lenses, but also their tendency for somewhat spotty distribution/delivery in the US market. I've heard great things about their 20mm f/1.7, for instance, though I've not owned one, and if you can get your hands on one it is easier on the budget.Ann B : Absolutely none. It's one of the best lenses I've ever owned. I use it for shooting low-light video especially, but it's also great for shallow-depth--of-field in stills. The bokeh is beautiful - images are creamy. I can't say enough in praise of this lens.ELLEN M : I like it and would probably buy it again but the problem is that I have the 20mm 1.7 and like it as much or better. The only thing about the 1.7 is that it is slower to focus.CHARLES L : It's a nice lens, only drawback if any is that it's focus by wire when you manually focus the lens. RONNIE B : ...none !...it is a great lens and I use it as my main studio lens...DAVID S : No regrets. Great lens on the E-M5 and E-P3. Angel G : Truth is I ended up using my 20mm 1.7 a lot more than the Leica. This is a great lens, but I can hardly recommend your buying it if you already own the Panasonic 20mm. But then, a lot of people buy Leicas...PETER K : In terms of its performance, this is a superb lens. There is one glaring design flaw: the hood does not reverse, so you cannot store the lens compactly in your bag or case--possibly a good thing to know at the outset.CHARLES A : Absolutely not. The lens is a wonderful performer. AF is quick and image quality is the best m4/3 has to offer. As long as you like the FOV of a normal lens you should not be disappointed. ChuckMICHAEL S : This was an expensive purchase for me but never have I had any regrets. Images are sharp and contrasty, and often have a stunning 3D effect. The bokeh is wonderful. If it broke I'd get another. I hope this helps.COLLINS C : The only thing i semi regret is the size. (compared to the 20mm 1.7) But realistically, the image quality is just so awesome that it's pretty much the only lens i use on my E-PL3. (other than wide-angles every now and then) It is THE lens to get in the m43 system (as well as the 12mm f/2)
