This is a good true pocket camera. Easy to use and you'll have it with you when you need it. It's also smaller than most phones and takes better pictures.

Great camera when you can't pack the SLR, small enough to pack in a coat pocket. For some reason I only received an instruction manual in Spanish... need one in English. Luckily, the camera is simple to use.

Bought this for my mother as a gift, replacing her old AA-powered point and shoot. I sat with her for five minutes walking through the common functions (changing scene types, viewing images, recording video, etc.) and then she was able to take it from there. Within a few minutes we tried out several options and she was taking good pictures. It's pretty good in low light as well, but can pick up atmospheric scenes like candlelight with solid detail. It's no ultra-versatile SLR, but it's super light, is quite responsive for those fleeting moments, and is a great value. Video and audio quality are more than adequate, but the resolution on video is limited since that's not this camera's primary function. The only real issue I had was that the refurbished unit I purchased didn't have instructions in English, just in 3 or 4 other languages.
