Shopper : Can the Panasonic FZ60 take a circular polarizing filter?LINDA L : Yes - the camera will take a circular polarizing filter. I purchased a set of filters on-line & they work just fine. You will need to have an adapter ring/tube - the one I have is 58mm.HARVEY B : Although I bought this camera for my wife over a year ago, we have never tried putting a circular polarizing filter on it. I?m sorry I don?t have a good answer for you. But I can tell you this, we liked the camera enough that we later bought my dad the same camera for Christmas.MAYNARD L : Yes! But I was looking for RAW capability, which this item did not have. I returned it in favor of the new G5 which has both RAW and 16 gb sensor ... Albeit w/o the single lens flexibility. I have a FZ150, 12 gb sensor and RAW capability for a walk around camera. Both use Zies lens technologies and are fine cameras for casual and moderate users.Ann P : Yes, this camera can use a 52mm circular polarizing filter similar to the Tiffen 52mm Circular Polarizer Glass Filter (Manufacturer Part Number: 52CP)WILLIAM K : Yes it does take a circular polarizing filter --Panasonic DMW-LPL52 52mm Polarizer Filter, may be sold by Adorama .XIAO HANG L : No idea
Shopper : Is the LCD screen fixed or can it pivot?RON I : I bought this as a Christmas gift, it has not been opened yet.DANIEL I : I'm sorry but I thought this was a question about the Pentax K30. I don't know if this Panasonic screen has this feature. I don't have one.DANIEL I : Nope.
Shopper : what is file format for still photo ? does it have RAW ? is there silver color ?ANDREW R : File format: JPEG (DCF/Exif2.3) / MPO Unfortunately, we currently only offer this unit in black.

Lumix FZ60

I use this camera for general use only. This is the 2nd Lumix that I have. So far the camera seems fine but the instructions are a little sparce. One thing that bothers me though, is a camera that has been on the market for some time, is that the software that comes with will not work with PC's that are 64 bit machines. After talking to at least 6 people at Panasonic, some denied the problem and some were aware of it. Granted, there is better software out there then Photo fun Studio but that is not the point. Apparently there is no effort to correct the problem.

Pleasantly surpirsed

I shoot a full frame DSLR, and am used to quality at that level. This camera was purchased for a family member to take on vacation for fun. It is a surprise that 16 megapixels crammed onto one of the smallest sensors in history produces the resolution and quality that this Lumix/Leica combo puts out. The software in the camera is impressive, and the video is good as well. All in all, a good toy.

About Panasonic DMC-FZ60

Panasonic introduces the LUMIX DMC-FZ60, the latest in the popular FZ series, which packs a powerful optical zoom and superior controllability including manual operation over both photo and full-HD video recording.

The LUMIX FZ60 is equipped with a high-quality LEICA DC VARIO-ELMARIT 25mm ultra wide-angle lens with a 24x optical zoom (35mm camera equivalent: 25-600mm), allowing for flawless shooting of dynamic landscapes or indoor group portraits. With the camera's Intelligent Zoom function, zoom can be increased to 48x equivalent while Intelligent Resolution technology maintains picture quality. Nano Surface Coating technology dramatically minimizes light reflection for the entire visual light range (380nm-780nm) by applying the extra-low refractive index coating with nano-sized structure on the surface of the lens resulting in super clear picture with dramatic reduction of ghost and flare.

Comprised of 14 elements in 10 groups, including 3 ED lenses and 2 aspherical lenses with 3 aspherical surfaces, the LUMIX FZ60's advanced lens system fits within an outstandingly compact body while delivering exceptional optical performance and suppressing distortion at the wide-end and color bleeding at the tele-end.

The LUMIX FZ60's newly developed 16.1-megapixel High Sensitivity MOS sensor combined with the high performance image processing LSI Venus Engine results in elevated response, sensitivity and image quality. Integrating high-speed digital signal output technology, the LUMIX FZ60 shoots 10 fps (frames per second) in 16.1-megapixel full resolution with mechanical shutter and 5 fps with continuous AF. Combined with its quick start-up time of approximately 0.9 seconds, the LUMIX FZ60 is able to capture even the most fleeting shooting opportunities.

The LUMIX FZ60 is a powerful, super-zoom camera which boasts extremely fast speed, and stellar image quality. The high energy efficiency of the camera's Venus Engine extends the LUMIX FZ60's battery life by about 12% as compared to its predecessor, the FZ45, making it possible to shoot 450 images per single charge making it an ideal companion for field shooting.

The LUMIX FZ60 is an advanced photographic tool for recording not only great photos but also beautiful high-resolution full-HD 1,920 x 1,080 60i (NTSC, sensor output 30p) videos in AVCHD (MPEG-4 / H.264) format or 30p in MP4. A special, separate button on the top of the camera body allows the user to instantly start recording videos while shooting photos without having to change any settings.
