GET IT WHILE IT LASTS

I purchased this as a every day walk around camera. There is no way I could carry my DSLR everywhere, like I do this camera. Features, control and image quality of this, are excellent. I have no complaints what so ever. It goes with me everywhere, and I've been able to capture pictures that I would have missed other wise. OK, you're not going to get the IQ of a APS-C or FF DSLR...but you are going to take this, when the thought of lugging around the weight and bulk of a DSLR is just too much.

Back to (micro) 4/3

I got into digital with an Olympus e510, then a 620. Then I went to Samsung, now I'm back with micro 43 in the form of the GX7. I put it to the test taking some company pictures, which turned out to be a big hit. I could have done just as well with the Samsung NX20, but I got tired of waiting for Samsung to expand its lens collection. I find the difference between the GX7 and my APS-c system to be minimal. I'm sure I would have a different opinion if I were comparing it to the NX-1, but that's out of my range for now. I like the rangefinder styling more than I thought I would. The tilt screen is a loss for me over the articulated screen I used to have, but the touch screen takes some of the loss away. I may get the GX8 if it ever gets this cheep, but I really hope Panasonic creates a GX7 mark 2, closer in size to the GX7 with an articulated screen.

great service and fast shipping

So far this camera meets and exceeds all my expectations...Having delt with Adorama in the past, I was again pleased by their "on top" shipping, and notification of the UPS tracking...

One of the Best

Solidly built and a solid performer. The results you get are somewhere between gratifying and stunning, and the MFT system with all its lenses and accessories is a big plus. The menus take some getting used to, but they're pretty logical. I downloaded the full advanced manual and put it on my iPad so I can study it conveniently. I'm very pleased with this DMC-GX7, so who not five stars? They left out the mic input, and I want to make some videos.

Great images anywhere

If I could give 4.5 I would but I'll rate this 5 as in my opinion this is a bit closer to 5 than 4. First the cons: a bit large, coming from the GF3 felt this difference, one is pocketable, the GX7 only for larger pockets, considering the idea of M4/3 this should be a target everytime. This camera eventually locks on me or take much longer than average time to perform usual operations like reviewing images. Not sure if is something specific about my camera or the GX7 in general, need to do some research... Due to the customization allowed for this camera (a positive for me) is hard to become familiarized with it. Just a matter of practice I know but coming from other friendlier cameras this can be relevant for some. Another one I can think of is the lack of 2nd curtain slow sync in the built-in flash, only slow sync. For those like me who uses the built-in as fill a lot this can be relevant. Last but not least I don't agree with manufacturer decision of intentionally crippling their cameras so it doesn't compete with higher-end models. The GX7 could offer more but it doesn't. I won't get into the details as there are plenty online out there - search for the hacks available for many Lumix models. But the pros are so many! It's my first Wi-fi enabled camera and the main reason I got the GX7, after you get the hang of it it's pretty easy to setup. I prefer using the Wi-fi direct conection as if I'm already connected to a Wi-fi network I won't loose this connection and keep online sharing whatever I want. NFC triggers the usual Wi-fi connection so I keep it deactivated but can be useful for some. Image quality is a step up from older generations like the GF3. I was already happy! The tiltable viewfinder is great contributing better than other cameras to the small form, eletronic shutter even greater, focus peaking allows for easy manual focus shots... The other main reason why I chose this model was the built-in image stabilization. Great! Online reviewers say it's not that great compared with Olympus 5-axis but this one satisfy me. Great purchase, extremely satisfied with it. Recommended!

Glad to be back with Panasonic

I love this camera. I was using the Olympus OMD and just could never get totally comfortable with the menu and the ergonomics. The GX7 is much more "user friendly" and has excellent IQ. A truly wonderful fun camera. It makes me look for every excuse to take pictures. I have been dealing with Adorama for many years, and as always the order was handled very nicely. I really would like to thank Al Lefko for making it such a pleasure to call Adorama.

The Future of Photography

The GX7 is an amazing camera. from its size to quality of lens, to the shear abilities of the camera itself . It is clearly not ment for novices in photography , if your looking for a point and shoot you really are barking up the wrong tree. This camera is at home in the hands of a Photo Pro as it is the avid Photo traveler. The only reason i did not give it 5 stars was i felt there were some things that Panasonic did not think through , i totally believe they will remedy those in the future. Non of which would impact the average user.

A professional lightweight camera

I travel a lot and having a light but professional camera is essential. Because of its size it is unobtrusive when photographing or shooting video in places where theft or other issues may arise. It does not look like an expensive camera but the photographs and videos are, in my estimation, equal to the "high end" DSLRs. The stabilization in the camera and lenses are great for capturing spontaneous events. I have yet to find any problems or issues with the functioning of the camera. I would encourage any level of photographer or videographer to purchase this camera.

Panasonic Lumix DMC-GX7 Mirrorless Digital Camera Kit with Lumix G Vario 14-42mm F/3.5-5.6 Lens, Black/Black

What does it take to elevate a camera kit from run-of-the-mill technical mastery to something a little more creatively challenging? It takes a camera kit of the Panasonic Lumix DMC-GX7 Mirrorless Digital Camera Kit’s ilk, thanks to some of the following features:

Product Highlights

  • 22 fully customizable filter effects allow you to explore not only your full visual range, but also your full creative range. There’s virtually no limit to what you can do to manipulate and elevate your photographs.
  • Creative panorama on this Panasonic Lumix DMC-GX7 Mirrorless Digital Camera means that you won’t have to be limited to just one slice of the sky, either.
  • In-camera stabilization, full HD video and accurate colors provide the high-tech support you need to make your creative visuals come to life.

Without hyperbole, the Panasonic Lumix DMC-GX7 Mirrorless Digital Camera Kit is less a camera and more a window to the world. What will you do with yours?

Learn about the Panasonic Lumix DMC-GX7 Mirrorless Digital Camera Kit with Lumix G Vario 14-42mm F/3.5-5.6 Lens, Black/Black

There are some who would tell you that your creativity does not go hand-in-hand with your equipment. Pish-posh. Where would Leonardo da Vinci be without his paintbrush? Michelangelo without a beautiful block of marble? Or Shakespeare, without his…okay, you get the point. The idea we at Adorama would like to get across here is that even the most creative of photographers will require an instrument that fuels their most artistic impulses. The Panasonic Lumix DMC-GX7 Mirrorless Digital Camera Kit is one such instrument. Like a beautiful quill for writing poetry, this camera kit will help provide the foundation through which you can satisfy all of your artistic whims, from 22 effects and creative panorama to in-camera stabilization, to ensure that every picture you take is what you imagined it could be.

  • The Creative Control Mode of this Panasonic Lumix DMC-GX7 Digital Camera Kit is the window from which you can view the world in new and exciting ways. We’re talking 22 filter effects and the ability to adjust each filter to the exact parameters you want—which gives you full creative control. There’s no reason your creativity should be restricted to the whims of some filter designer’s imagination. Instead, you should be able to customize your own. And with the Creative Panorama function, you won’t be restricted to a single canvas, either.
  • In-camera stabilization might not sound like the most artistic of features, but it’s absolutely necessary if you’re going to pull off the shots you want. After all, creative photography is an active exercise. The Panasonic Lumix DMC-GX7 Digital Camera Kit gets out of your way by providing optical image stabilizer-like technology directly in the camera body, which provides you something of a mobile tripod—at least metaphorically.
  • Serious LCD viewfinding is important if your vision is going to match that of your mind’s eye. In other words, you’re going to need a touch-enabled, 3.0” Tilt-able LCD with 1040k-dot resolution if your viewfinder is going to steer you right. No camera kit should provide you with inferior viewfinding so that you can’t properly compose a frame. If you’ve ever wondered how the professionals make their frames, it’s through keen eyes and a really solid viewfinder.
  • Shoot live footage with the same creativity that you bring to every shot—and don’t lose any of the quality. The LUMIX GX7 provides full-HD 1920 x 1080/60p video, which means it will be smooth, capable of handling fast autofocus, and provide cinematic quality. Just because you’re shooting with a camera kit that doesn’t cost a Hollywood budget and a half doesn’t mean you shouldn’t be able to achieve Hollywood-level beauty and image quality with your video footage.
  • Focus accurately. What more could matter to your creative vision than the focus to get the job done? Just as your metaphorical focus will matter here, so too will the literal focus of your Panasonic Lumix DMC-GX7 Digital Camera Kit. With focus peaking, you’ll be able to find the peak of focus for every shot—and you can easily set magnification from 3x to 10x with accurate autofocus.
  •

Sure, it’s got all of the technical specs of any great camera here at Adorama, but let’s face it: this Panasonic Lumix DMC-GX7 Mirrorless Digital Camera Kit is more than that. It’s a way to view the world in a slightly different way.

The LUMIX GX7 incorporates an optical image stabilizer-like technology directly in the camera body. This in-camera LUMIX MEGA O.I.S.* technology works as effectively with interchangeable non-optically stabilized lenses, to enjoy blur-free photography.
* Nearly as effective as the LUMIX MEGA O.I.S. in LUMIX DSLM lenses.

Focus Accuracy with Focus Peaking and Magnification Windows
For more precise control over focusing, the LUMIX GX7 incorporates Focus Peaking that shows the peak of focus. The precise area of focus is indicated while viewing the subject in live view. Pin-Point AF allows you to set magnification from 3x to 10x. The One-Shot AF sets the rough focus on the subject where you can then go back to MF to adjust precise focus.

Share Instantly with Wi-Fi and One-Touch Device Connection with NFC
With the Panasonic Image App, you can use a smartphone or tablet to control zoom, set focus, and shoot remote from a distance. The Wi-Fi setup is quick and easy and picture data can be transferred to a designated electronic device right after shooting. You can instantly upload and share your images on a Social Networking Service with your smartphone, and NFC (Near Field Communication) technology connects the camera with a smartphone or tablet by simply bringing them together.

Expand Your Creativity with a Full Line-Up of Lenses
The LUMIX GX7 achieves ultra fast performance with a maximum 1/8000 shutter speed. In-body optical image stabilizer-like image stabilization*, delivers exceptional performance when mounting non-stabilized lenses to the LUMIX GX7. Every Panasonic LUMIX lens is exclusively designed for DSLM cameras taking advantage of digital technologies such as high-precision, high-speed Contrast AF.
* Nearly as effective as the LUMIX MEGA O.I.S. in LUMIX DSLM lenses.

Discover Ultimate Picture Quality
The LUMIX GX7 captures high-quality photos and video with realistic details through exceptional resolution and color reproduction. Panasonic delivers a 16.00-Megapixel Digital Live MOS Sensor that achieves both high resolution and high sensitivity image quality with minimum noise. The Venus Engine features advanced noise reduction systems delivering smooth images especially in low light scenes. The Live MOS Sensor works in concert with the Venus Engine achieving a maximum ISO of 25600.

Touch Enabled 3.0" Tilt-able LCD
Optimized for even sunny, outdoor shooting, the 1040K-dot high-resolution static-type touch monitor delivers approximately 100% field of view and tilts up by 45 degrees and down by 80 degrees. The front panel is directly attached to the In Cell Touch LCD without containing an air layer in-between, resulting in reduced reflection of external light. Combined with increased resolution, the monitor for LUMIX GX7 delivers higher visibility even in sunny outdoor shooting.

Light Weight, Durable Magnesium Alloy Body
Dressed in a magnesium alloy, full die-cast frame, the LUMIX GX7 boasts high durability for any shooting situation. State-of-the-art imaging is delivered in a sophisticated, stylish metal body.

Precise Focusing with Contrast AF System
All LUMIX G cameras boast the sophisticated Contrast AF focus system. Compared with the Phase Difference AF focus system, Contrast AF delivers higher accuracy especially when shooting with a bright lens and a small F-stop. The LUMIX GX7 features quick Light Speed AF, making it possible to capture even the fastest moving subjects clearly.

Premium Body Design with Precision Quality
Separate dials, on the top and back, improve manual shooting performance. The external design of the camera was developed with every detail in mind. LUMIX GX7 offers luxurious comfort in shooting with stunning performance. The LUMIX GX7's 1/8000 shutter speed captures fast moving subjects. Silent Mode switches the shutter from mechanical to electronic, and turns off all sounds and focus lamps for special shooting occasions where you need to be discreet.
