Shopper : how long does it last?DAVID C : Works fine, no quick burn out on the time. I was quite satisfied with the battery even though the camera I used it for ended up being a disaster.DOROTHY B : I don't really know in hours, but it last a good amount of time. On vacation it will usually last me for a day's worth of pictures or more. Of course I always carry a backup, just in case. Depending on how discharged the battery is, it an take two to four hours to charge it.ANDREW L : I have not counted the number of shots for the DMW-BCG10 battery. I have 5 Panasonic cameras and all of the various lithium batteries last a long time. The battery life is long enough that it is never an issue when using the various Panasonic cameras and batteries. For all day touring and shooting on vacation, we use one battery and carry one spare. Some of the cameras have GPS but we do not use GPS. Also, I have not yet had any of the batteries wear out/fail to re-charge.HARRY R : We have had the battery for two years. We alternate it with an spare which we carry when we travel and can not miss photo opportunities. We do notice that the batterie do not hold a charge as long as when new, and we have to change them after about 2 days of shooting pictures.CORNELIUS B : I bought a backup and interchange them by charging the one that is not in service. Hard to say, but when i'm on vacation and taking a lot of pictures it lasts about 2 days. i have a second fully charged as backup at all timesGEORGE D : With infrequent use [as opposed to using the camera daily and intensively] the charge in the battery seems to last at least 2-3 months. I rotate between two batteries -- one came with the camera and the second I bought from Adorama -- ever since I bought them in 2010. I always keep one battery fully charged in reserve. There appears to be no deterioration of these batteries that I can observe. Absolutely no complaints about a great pocket camera and an excellent power supply.

Reliable Original Equipment Back-up

Needed an additional back-up to battery that came with camera. Researched aftermarket options and none seemed to be as reliable as the original supplied with the camera. The extra cost is worth the peace of mind for reliable performance.

The Real Thing

This is a great backup battery which I bought for traveling at a value oriented price. It is an actual Panasonic Lumix battery, unlike those you might find elsewhere advertised as such but aren't really. Excellent product.

The DMW-BCG10 works in the Panasonic ZS7 which requires a 'secured' battery.
