Always better to purchase the OEM battery instead of the after market ones. Guaranteed to perform and not damage the camera. Worth the high price.

Purchased the oriiginal manufactuers battery as a spare for my Lumux LX7, rather than some off brand, mimizing the potential for any problems in the future. Nice to know I have a reliable spare battery on hand when needed.

The batteries for the Panasonic Lumix LX7 seem to run out of charge much faster than the approximately 330 shots that the manufacturer claims. I'm not sure if its because of reviewing pictures or using flash sometimes (i could see both having an impact). That being said, i purchased a second battery so i wouldn't be caught without the ability to take photos (especially travel photos).

I use My camera Panasonic LX 7 all the time , that is he reason i need another battery, , i work for new paper i have my Cannon Mark lV, but believe me LX7is wondefull, for price compact camera ,and sharp lens 1.4 is incredible I journalist i put several images in the front page when i use muy compat camera.

This battery is the OEM for LX5 and LX7 cameras. It holds a charge well and works identically to the one I purchased with my camera. Would recommend this battery to provide clean, consistent power to your camera over the 3rd party batteries.

I always have a second battery for my digital cameras. I've purchased off brands in the past for my DSLRs, but for my Panasonic LX5 I decided to stick with the Panasonic name. I don't know if there are third-party batteries that are just as good or even better, but I do know that having two Panasonic batteries gives me the assurance that they will hold the charge and last as long as each other. I'm very pleased with the performance and plan to buy a Panasonic backup battery for my new Panasonic GX1.

Less than half the Leica price for the same battery. In fact, last year, when batteries were at a premium (couldn't get them), I was told by a Leica user that he received his Leica with the Panasonic labeled battery.
