Nice product

This unit is a breeze to use, no confusing software to learn simply set the mode to Photo or film and go, scanned quickly and even allowed for direct viewing when connected to TV, transfer of files was easy, no need to even remove the SD card, I simply connected it to my PC and it showed up under My Computer as removable drive for accessing images on the card.

Right product for the job

By

This is a simple product that produces fine sharp results. The Scratch removal does a good job but slows down the process. In about 5% of cases, it produces digital artifacts when misreading scratches. The preview is not very accurate even when connected to a TV but the end results are good. I imagine on a more expensive machine there would be better control of colour for some of the old slides that have lost colour.

Questions about this item:

Shopper  Why Did You Choose This?
DONNA K  Needed to convert my kids pictures from the pre-digital age.
Brian L  Need to scan lots of large format slides (2.325 X 2.325 inch) from the 1950s. Most have cardboard frames (2.75" X 2.75"). Many have washed out coloring. Will this unit work?.
ROBERT W  Sorry no. I also have a few larger format negs, so just tried and at best you might be able to cc the center portion approx. size of a 135mm slide. Even that would take some 'doing'. As a side note, this slide/4x6 print scanner is the best I've see & used. However I still often enhance/crop/improve color/etc on Picasa. Good luck.
Brian L  thanks very much. I appreciate the help. Brian
Shopper  Is this unit compatible with Mac?
ROBERT W  Sorry. Can't answer - I'm P C user.
