This was an excellent purchase for a used K5II battery grip. It was only rated E but it was perfect. Nice job Adorama!

I'm a true believer in using a battery grip on a DSLR. This original Pentax grip is built solid, has a shutter, AE lock, ISO, EV and Pentax green button. It also has dual control wheels. It also holds, in addition to the battery, a spare SD card. It is also weather and dust resistant. I believe the material is a high quality plastic with a rubberized thumb hold. I like the feel of it. If you are a portrait photographer it's a no brainer. Highly recommended.

Nice addition to the camera. Helps give a more secure grip on the camera. Adds a little weight but it's worth it. Went with the name brand grip as had read complaints about off brands not "seating" properly. This one's more expensive but figured it would be made better.

Bought a knockoff and the alignment pins were the wrong size. Go with this OEM product. Perfect fit

The D-BG4 is truly expensive but I guess Pentax has to make a profit somehow and so it changes grip models frequently. That said, one feature is quite unique. The D-BG4 has two spare battery carriers! One holds the usual litium-ion battery and is clearly useful. The other holds the requisite number of AA batteries, should you be somewhere (Timbuktoo, perhaps) there is no electricity for your battery charger nor any emporia vending lithium-ion camera batteries. In that latter case, this second tray is indispensible! Although I never expect to use that second tray, the grip itself does nicely balance the camera body (a little top and front heavy, otherwise). And for that reason alone I have the D-BG4 grip on my K 5 camera body almost all of the time!

I have the Pentax grip for my K-10 so this was an easy choice, except for the cost, about $60 more than the K-10 grip. It would be nice if the K-5 model also included storage for the remote control, as the K-5 does. Despite these "minor" gripes I find it an essential purchase; it makes the grip on the camera more comfortable for me, and the auxilary shutter and e-wheels make vertical shots so much nicer. The extra battery life is a plus.

I can't complain. Isn't like the rest of the manufacturers where the grip has a slide that enters the camera. This is contact point only. Adds battery power. Very Nice.

The optional battery grip for the Pentax K-5 is a must have accessory in my opinion. Not only does it provide for additional power but it also gives you a more comfortable surface to hold the camera. It also has controls for portrait orientation so you don't have to twist your hand. Unlike the previous Pentax grips, this one unfortunately doesn't have slots to store an additional SD card or a wireless remote. It does however allow you to use either a Pentax rechargeable battery or AA batteries.

I believe in purchasing OEM products, for best compatibility and ease of use. Adorama had the best price on the market for this item.

Great product, gives extra long battery life and very handy for portraits. Allows for use of AA batteries, when you can't recharge other batteries.

Great add on, gives long lasting battery life for taking lots of pictures. Water proof, and add the ability to use AA batteries also.

Makes my Pentax K-5 feel like a pro rig. Good for thousands of shots in a day.

Don't buy the aftermarket one, it tends to lock up the K5. This one is sealed, and fits without issue. Comes with the AA battery cage or the l-ion oem battery cage. Its a bit pricey, but worth it.

I can use vertical format more often, I can rest assure the batteries last really long. I am buying Pentax and not the chinese made knock-off therefore, no problems of compatibility with the k5.

Wonder full with longer lenses. Like AA battery option. Great additional storage. Plastic is correct material for grip.

I love this product for two reasons: my K5 feels so much better balanced and I haven't worried about my battery charge. With the two Pentax rechargeables on board, I have shot over five hundred pic's (with an external flash) and the camera still says it's at a full charge. Only issue: I overtightened it to the body once and it was very difficult to remove!

Love the grip. The extra battery and the controls help my be more flexable with my shots out on the field. Never run out of power. Can shoot all day.

I keep this attached to my K7 all the time. You can choose how to manage the batteries. I've NEVER run out of power on a shoot! THere is also a cool extra battery tray to use AAs in an emergency and a little clip to hold an extra memory card. This thing is very well thought out and I won't go out without it. I also love the extra shutter release and other controls for use in vertical mode.

Can add balance with heavier lenses, great for poturature/vertical shots. When your lithiums are dead and you don't have access to your charger you can use AAs! Greatly extends your shooting time.

This is a must have with the K7. The K7 is fairly small in size, and this grip adds to the ergonomics, especially when using larger lenses. The ability to use AA batteries is handy when the Pentax batteries run out of power.
