Pentax is building great cameras and it is worth having a second battery I can count on. I can't speak for the third party batteries but the Pentax battery works great.

Nothing much to say, as a spare battery it does exactly what you expect and need, offer additional shooting time in the field. I have done much better with the original party equipment than the 3rd party options and so am very happy with it.

It’s a battery, alright! It stores electricity for use away from connection to the power grid. It fits in my Pentax for this purpose. Eventually all the stored electricity gets used. But then you can fill it up again. A marvel of the modern era.

The battery that came with my K3-II didn't last very long. I bought a second battery awhile back that was supposed to be OEM Pentax, but was a Chinese POS. I decided to replace both batteries with real Pentax product. Right out of the box they were fully charged. My old batteries were freshly charged, unused, and already half dead. They are now recycled.

I know there are less expensive alternatives out there, but stick with OEMs for your batteries. I have had good luck with other brands but nothing has ever lasted as long (in terms of length of service, not charge time) than Pentax batteries. It's worth the price!

I purchased this as a spare to replace a 3rd party (off brand) battery which doesn't hold a charge for long after about 4 months use. The original Pentax battery still holds a charge great so I decided to purchase the Pentax brand since the original is still going strong after a year and a half of use. I would also say that I'm very pleased for Adorama's customer support that corrected an issue with a coupon that I had wanted applied at the time of this sale they corrected the issue very quickly. So overall it's Five stars for the battery and Ten stars for Adorama's customer support. -Richard

This battery, being the Pentax brand just like the one that comes with the camera, works just like it was designed to work. It holds a charge well, and has not been discharging too quickly. It seems to be just as good as the original!

Price was reasonable. Communications from Adorama were fine. Unfortunately, I planned to take the battery as a spare on a trip to Italy. Battery was back-ordered and finally arrived after I had left on the trip.

Through experience I have found it is better to spend the extra for the original manufactures battery. Sure the off brand ones work and the charge faster but run down faster and after a short ting the get even worse.

I have owned many differnt Pentax digital cameras over the years and have always purchased the Pentax brand batteries. They maintain their charge well and last a long time when I am shooting. I always have an extra battery when I am shooting for the day and have yet to find myself without enough power to finish the day.

I received this battery about a week ago and it is the genuine pentax part. I charged it once and probably won't have to charge it again for a month. I shoot a few shots a week normally, not photoshoots. I've had the original battery for almost 2 years and only noticed a slight degradation. Great batteries!

You can buy a cheaper battery that is compatible with the Pentax D-LI90 battery. In fact, Adorama will sell you such a battery, and it's not a bad battery at all. But a charge on it will not last as long, and the worst thing you can have when out shooting pictures is to wonder of the current or backup battery has enough charge to last. With my K5 I typically utilize Pentax's D-BG4 battery grip (also fits the K7) set so that it will automatically draw from the battery in the camer and that in the grip. It also has an insert so you can use 4 AA cells. If you want to see how fast a good camera can eat up a non-rechargeable gattery, use that, but make sure you have lots of spares on hand. My sense is the Pentax D-LI90 is worth every penny, just for pezce of mind alone. I was willing to wait over a month while this battery was on back order.
