I bought this camera for my daughter, who doesn't yet have the patience to learn a DSLR. It's a great point and shoot, and fantastic value for the price. Side by side with two Canon P&S cameras, this one takes better photos. As they say, the best camera is the one you have with you. When I've been without my DSLR and my daughter has the E90, I've found the features sufficient to get the shot I need.

This is a good camera for the price paid---[$]. It's fairly fast to turn on, and quick to focus and take a picture. It uses 2 AA batteries, which allow you take several hundred photos, assuming you're not using the flash a great deal.One annoyance is the zoom feature when used with videos. The zoom control clicks when you press it, and that click is captured in the audio portion of your movie.

If you want small, simple and a great value then this is the pocket camera for you. AA batteries and small enough to go wherever you go AND half the price of other quality name brands makes this a hard one to pass up. I wanted small and AA batteries and decent photos and I got all with the E90. I have been shooting Pentax for over twenty years and while not the fanciest cameras around they have always done what they were supposed to do - take great pictures. This one carries on that tradition with ease!

Color reproduction is good. AWB is good also. Camera produces good clear images, but it is not nearly as fast as my DSLRs. thats to be expected. I gave it 4 out of 5 stars because the zoom is not nearly as long as I expected, and it seems to have a slow/accurate auto focus. If it were faster, I would have given it a 5 out of 5. As a designer of web sites and promotional work I own and use several cameras. I needed a very compact camera small enough that would easily fit in my pocket yet still use AA batteries and shoot high quality photos. This camera was just what i needed. Very satisfied.

The Pentax E90 takes a surprisingly sharp and clear picture for such an economical camera. I particularly like the short lag time as the camera is very responsive to the controls. Color and contrast have been very good and the flash results are evenly lit. The battery cover on this camera is reinforced to provide additional strength. The camera body is coated with some kind of grippy material which makes the camera less likely to slip out of my grasp. The internal mechanism sounds smooth. The viewing screen automatically dims down between shots to conserve power and returns to full power on activating any control. There are a lot of nice features in the mode menus. This camera is perfect for documenting business events and especially for travel due to the compact and convenient size. The high quality results and ease of use make the camera a serious photographic tool.

This Optio is faster and smarter than my older Optio model. The lens is superb! One of the things that has pleasantly surprised me is the blue sky renditions. I struggled to get pretty blue skies with my old camera, now beautiful blue skies are the norm. Way to go Pentax! This inexpensive camera can be handed to a child or stranger with no instruction, it's that easy to use. Don't let the low price fool you. This smart little Pentax easily competes with cameras triple the price. Hey Pentax... the flash has gotten smaller. Bring back one of your better flash units on a future model. Thanks!

I purchased this camera as a gift for my mom who is very tech-challenged. She has been able to use it and is enjoying it. I haven't gotten a phone call from her yet asking how to do something, though I know she has only used it in the purest point and shoot way. The image quality is nice, and while she hasn't used it a lot or made full use of its potential, it is still a nice point and shoot.

I'm no camera expert, nor do I have the patience to learn complex hi-tech manuals. This camera is perfect for me: very simple to use, big LCD screen, and excellent pictures. It does require batteries which may be a downside for many. I haven't used it enough to say how long the batteries last, probably not terribly long because of the LCD screen, still I'm good with it through a few hours of use. I also can't say how it does in low light since I use a flash in low light. Stiil, it's an impressive little camera for a small price.
