Bought this camera because I wanted a good quality point-and-shoot that I could take anywhere without the worry of water, sand or dust ruining any delicate mechanisms. For two years I had no problems--great quality photos and lots of use. In the last year, however, I have been having sporadic trouble with focus--more often than not pictures will come out blurry. I suspect condensation of some kind under the lens, but the cost of sending the camera back to the company for repairs is beyond prohibitive: it would be cheaper to buy a new camera. I loved it while it lasted, but am sorry to have spent nearly[$] for something that only lasted two years.

It is ideal to take to the beach and similar places where regular cameras (Non watertight) are not recomended. The lens is OK but never as good as my DSLR's lenses.

Takes good pictures above the water, and then you can go snorkeling and it takes good pictures of the fish under water. You just take it in. It doesn't need to be put in a case. It is waterproof. We are so glad we have this camera for swimming in Catalina or when on a trip. All around good camera. Very happy with it.

Several of the photographs from this camera have been published in catalogs and ad's.

I use it mainly when I can't carry my DSLR around. It's a fun little camera to use, especially when at play. It's awesome during the day & when having fun, since I don't have to worry about it getting wet or dirty. Shooting at night, however, isn't too much fun. It takes a while for the AF to lock on & find the subject at low light. It shoots with too much noise in the photos & the AF usually can't find the subject, even if the subject is lit with a strong light. Most redeeming quality: it can shoot underwater! How many other point & shoot cameras can do that?

The Optio W10 and W20 both had better shutter lag time in low light with flash. I would not recommend the W30 camera for low-no light situations.

It was great for fishing and kayaking. But one day when I was using it under about a foot of water it stopped working later that day. So I paid close to [$] bucks for 5 months of camera. Get the Olympus underwater camera it is shock proof.

I use it frequently for pics while whitewater kayaking, swimming/snorkeling and it does a good job. Lag time is a bit frustrating sometimes however. I have had no problems so far but be aware that the Pentax warranty does NOT cover water damage so if it does leak you're out of luck.

The camera has no moving parts. No lens that telescopes in and out. It is a perfect portable camera. I use it at work and traveling.

This was purchased as a gift for someone else. They have found it easy to use and fun! I'm probably going to buy another one for my wife to replace her current camera.
