I wanted a pocket camera for coming up on surprises and wanting the avalibility for quick shots. Found you have to hold very - very still or image will be blury. No matter which setting I use. But its tough and once you learn how to handle this camera - it works out great.

Versatile and rugged camera. Took it on a recent trip where I was not able to bring an slr. Pictures, especially macro were excellent. Enjoy the rugged construction and water resistant capablities.

Just returned from a trip where we could not use an slr. Great results, especially with macro modes. Rugged, waterproof design is worth paying for.

I purchased this camera because I kayak and snorkel. I did not want to take along my primary cameras and risk damage. We just completed a river trip on a section of river that was very high water and difficult. The Pentax Optio W90 12.1 Megapixel was clipped to my chest when my kayak dumped and it was submerged for several minutes (while taking a beating against tree branches and rocks)as I "river swam" to safety. The water was very cold and the force of the current was brutal. Once I made it safely to shore, I wiped the camera with a dry shirt and was able to take photos immediately. I am very glad that I made this purchase and anticipate many water adventures with it.

I like its compact size, easily fits in a pocket. It has lots of capability but is still easy to use. It is perfect for situations where environmental conditions are such that I wouldn't take my full size DSLR.

Bought this camera for two purposes, Great macro shots and WATERPROOF/shock resistance. So far, I need to carry an extra charged battery in the winter or make sure to carry it where it stays warm. Battery life decreased way too fast at 18 degrees. Haven't tested out the waterproof feature yet, but on the Alaskan trails, I'm sure it will be soon. Overall, I love it!

Bought to have a point and shoot just to throw in a bag takes very clear photos and video. Have not tried he underwater cpqbilities yet since its winter, so i am looking forward to that.
