Love the camera

I am a dentist and I use this camera in the office for macro photography. It is easy to use has built-in LED lights in lens. It is water proof so we can wipe it off after it is used. As a bonus, we took it with us on a vacation and got great pictures under water of our children. Hal

Not Waterproof.

I bought this to use while snorkeling in the Virgin Islands. It quit working after just a few moments in the water. I got it back to shore, opened it up, and poured water out of the battery compartment, which also holds the memory card. You do the math. Total thumbs down, garbage.

Started happy ended disappointed

We LOVED the features and ease of use but after carefully using the camera in the pool the first time, our camera was full of water. The warranty is covering this issue and they have been very good about working with us though. We are hoping we simply had some defective seals and was justa fluke because otherwise we were really happy with this camera!

Kind of Disappointed

Bought this camera as soon as it was available and maybe that was a mistake if there is a possibility that the first ones off the line may have had flaws. Focus is iffy resulting in some less than desireable shots. It does work underwater and I've had no problems with leaks. Biggest thing I notice is that when I compare shots with my Daughter in Law who uses a Canon Sure Shot with an underwater case, her photos are far superior to mine. Have to wonder if the WG-2 might be a little better but not willing to risk the investment. I have three cameras and only use this one when I'm around salt water. On a positive note, I did use this camera in the Dead Sea which is about as caustic an environment as can be found and had no problems with leakage or corrosion.

perfect gift

i got this camera as a christmas gift for my boyfriend, he loved it and i am also hooked to it, we both like using it when we go climbing and running. it was definitely worth it.

Awesome in Cozumel

I thought the camera worked easily as well as described. It was great underwater as long as you weren't trying to focus through many feet of water to get a close up. I did find that it was not the greatest in low light situations as it wanted to take a long time to take the shot. It was fantastic on my trip to Cozumel and provided many fantastic pictures I would never have gotten with my DSLR for fear of getting it wet.

the battery does not last long

product is excellent for taking pictures underwater

recommend this camera is very complete

the best alternative, good resolution and resistance

Great camera!

I love this camera and carry it everywhere. The only questionable picture taken was in low light and smokey. Overall wonderful!

Great second camera to back up my DSLR and/or Medium Format.

not bad

I like this camera, but only as a waterproof device, I can't imagine using it as first camera, the image quality is average and zoom... zoom is a joke, the quality is so bad that it is hard to believe that it is not a digital zoom.

Bought as a gift~WOW, What a Gift!!

Cannot say anything negative about this camera. It was given as a gift twice. My son uses it while cruising timber in the RAINY and WET Northwest forests...he LOVES IT..

Questions about this item:

Shopper  how many frames per second?
JOHN A M  Offhand I couldn't say. Check the Pentax web site.
Shopper  Why Did You Choose This?
WK A  I bought this item strictly for extreme close up photography. The camera will focus to 1 CM and the LEDs provide illumination when the camera body shades the subject, but it must be used in subdued light if one wants to be able to visualize the image. In sunlight, one must wing it, so to speak, since the LCD display cannot be seen.
