Shopper : Why Did You Choose This?JEFF W : I bought this to use with a Canon SX-10 using CHDK firmware addon. Does not work without CHDK firmware. Works great without making a homemade one, does have enough voltage even with just AAA battery.KENNETH S : The only "cable" release available for the GXR. I shoot using a tripod a lot, so I use it often.

Works Perfectly for Me

I use the Ricoh Cable Switch on a Canon SX10IS with Canon Hack Development Kit (CHDK) and needed a Cable switch with a mini-USB connector for porting to the SX10IS. The Ricoh works perfectly (including on zoom). It is a great addition to the camera as I learn photography.

Perfect for my shaky hands

Ricoh CA-1 Cable Switch

I use this item to simultaneously fire a pair of Canon digital cameras for use in stereo photography. Although this item provides the best solution yet for synchronized shooting, it performs reliably only about 75% of the time. This switch can work for many weeks on just one AAA battery. This dual-firing feature works only with certain Canon model pairs, both of which must be connected together with a USB cable, along with special free firmware obtained at a 3D photography-related Website that is installed in the cameras' SD memory cards.

The cable switch is effective for scenes where hand-motion blur tends to occur and also for long exposures when using a tripod for nightscapes or macro shooting. It can do both half-press and full-press operations. Easy to use total length of approx. 2.2 feet / 65 cm (from grip end to connector end).
