RICOH GX200

I have owned this camera for a year now, along with the telephoto and wide angle add on lenses and love it. I like the customisation you can achieve with the camera. Results have been excellent at low ISO's excellent exposure and sharp photos. Ricoh provides us with useful features and I appreciate that. Highly recommended.

Ricoh Caplio GX200

This is the perfect point and shoot. Durable build, shoots RAW, easily processed .dng files. I really like the electronic viewfinder, and it's easy to put on, take off. The picture quality is quite good. Focuses quickly, short lag time, feels good in my hand. I carry this with me, and many times take a quick shot to see if I want to drag out the big gear. If easily fits in a large(ish) pocket of my shorts. Only nitpick: The lens cover must be removed before turning on the camera.

Love it!

I haven't owned it very long and am still figuring out the best combo of custom settings for my useage. There is noise at 800 ISO and up but, hey, it's a small format camera...

This is the future in small cameras

I think this is the best small digital camera on the market for my needs. My favorite thing is the video viewer. It makes it more like the SLR cameras I use to make my living. I don't like holding a camera at arm's length to compose a photo. Also those screens are no good in bright light. Someday all digital cameras will use this system. Why do SLRs still have noise making mirrors and bulky pentaprisms. My main complaints of the GS200 are the noise in higher ISOs and small zoom range. I do think it's the perfect travel camera.

The GX200 is a high-end 24mm ultra-wide-angle optical zoom digital compact featuring high resolution 12 megapixel CCD coupled with the latest imaging engine SIE III the GX200 is capable to reproduce high quality images from edge-to-edge with low noise and natural gradation.

This camera succeeds the award winning Caplio GX100 compact digital camera introduced in April 2007. Inheriting the highly popular Caplio GX100 features such as a 24 to 72mm (35mm film equivalent focal length) high-performance wide-angle optical zoom lens on a 25mm thin pocketable compact body, a wide variety of manual shooting functions, and a removable tilting electronic viewfinder, the new GX200 achieves increased resolution via its 12 megapixel CCD and dramatic noise reduction with the addition of the new image processing engine Smooth Imaging Engine III. Already a popular part of the Caplio GX100, the high-resolution wide-angle lens unit has been further configured to enable picture taking at an even higher resolution. With a large wide-viewing angle 2.7-inch 460,000 dots HVGA LCD and an electronic level function, for horizontal and vertical shooting, the GX200 contains extensive shooting functions to enable camera lovers to enjoy and create stunning photographs. This model comes in two package types with different accessories. The GX200 package contains: rechargeable lithium ion battery, battery charger, AV cable, USB cable, CD-ROM, strap, and lens cap. The GX200 VF KIT package contains all the above accessories plus the electronic viewfinder.
