Questions & Answers

Shopper : I saw a review of this lens on Amazon it seemed from a pro and he said that this lens was really only suited for what Samsung intended it for... Video. I'm sure in a perfect world we ALL would be able to afford the 50 - 150 S Lens, but, this is not the case. Given his review is this lens suitable for photos or should it be video only? ThanksDOUG W : I think that the video attraction is the manual focus switch and easy accessible focus ring.JOE A : It's fine for photos if you're not doing big enlargements. I'd say it's good for a walk-around lens but you will certainly not get anywhere near the image quality of a Fuji prime lens. So, if top notch image quality is very important to you skip this zoom, otherwise, it does the job if you only want to carry one lens.
darryl m : can this be used on the nx mini using the nx m mount adaptor?ILL KYU M : Yes
JACOB G : Will this lens work on the NX 1?DOUG W : Have it attached to NX1 right now?DONGMING B : No. Different mount.JOE A : Yes it will. It's a very good all purpose lens. I've used it extensively and also Sony's version. The Samsung is a much better lens.

Great lens Samsung 18mm-200mm f/3.5-6.3

I have NX10 with the standard lens and 50-200. Both lenses are noisy for video. 50-200 is very sharp and fast. Because this system is for traveling it is more convenient to have the lens which replaces both former ones. I was very glad to find that the lens is made in Japan like all my high end Nikon lenses. It is heavier than my other Samsung lenses, but way more convenient. Upon update of the firmware the camera responds to i function button which this lens has. In general I'm happy with the NX system. I'm looking forward to get NX200.

The Samsung 18 - 200mm multi-purpose zoom lens has been optimized for movie recording, with a Voice Coil Motor (VCM) that eliminates noisy auto focusing. And since it's a linear motor, it gives you fast zoom tracking - automatically keeping your subject in focus when zooming in or out. Now you can shoot professional-quality video worthy of a Hollywood director, with just your camera.

Leave all your other lenses home next time you go to a soccer match or out on a hike. With its incredibly extensive range of focal lengths, the Samsung 18 - 200mm multi-purpose zoom lens is ideal when you need to travel light. Since you won't be swapping out lenses, you won't miss recording that thrilling goal which you can play back again and again. And its 11x zoom lets you easily capture beautiful stills of distant landscapes.

This i-Function lens is perfect for novices and experts alike. If you're a beginner, shoot confidently like a pro with Lens Priority Mode. This allows your camera to instantly recognize the type of lens you've attached. Now, it will serve up optimal scene modes with i-Scene, while i-Setting optimizes all the settings for the perfect shot. If you're already a pro, you can cycle through and adjust shutter speed, aperture, ISO and more - all without taking your fingers off the lens and your eyes off the shot - simply by pressing the i-Function button and turning the value ring to the desired settings.
