Manuel P : Any picture taken on 3D? In general, what about the picture quality? ThanksHUGUETTE R : I love the quality of the camera, I recommend it, but not sure I understand what you mean by 3D. The camera doesn't do 3 dimension.GARDIEL E : 3D have not taken any pictures. picture quality is better then the panasonic lx7. (i have also) i use mostly for video. built in mic i think is superior then other cameras out there. image stabilizer is great. Dof is better on the lx7. but with a sensor so small you cant do much with it. so its not important. unless you need manual dof control. EX2F is very comfortable in the hands and wifi is a big plus. for that sensor size i think this camera makes the best picture quality. good bang for the buck :)KAREN C : I have taken one picture in 3D, but I'm not quite sure how to make it look 3D. It looks like every other picture to me, maybe there is a way to view in 3D but I have not found it. Wasn't terribly impressed with picture quality, I plan to buy a better class of memory card which may help. Picture quality I feel is not worth the full price of this camera; luckily I got $130 off. I still feel it may be a bit overpriced for the simple features available on a simple point and shoot. I would buy a different camera if I could. Only thing I'm in love with about this camera is the wifi to iPhone ease of use. Other than that, I'd say keep looking. GERALD W : Nothing done in 3d, but the picture quality is excellent.
MAURICE L : Is it true that due to fast 1.4 lens in this camera photos taken in bright outdoor light are overexposed despite the ND filter? Does that mean this camera is most suited for low light, night photography only.EMILY S : Hi, I wish I could help. I still haven't really used mine but random shots indoors. All the many reviews I read, though, were great. I read expert and user reviews both. I am guessing you have read otherwise, though, given your question. Sorry, wish I could help more!JAMES M : While the f/1.4 at allows pictures to be taken in low light, this camera has an aperture range of f/1.4 to f/7.7 at 24mmm and from and from f/2.7 to f/8.5 at 80mm. A shutter speed as fast as 1/2000 of a second and ISO 100 should allow for fine photographs outdoors on sunny days. My opinion is that this camera is better suited than most point and shoot cameras for low light and night photography because of the f/1.4 max aperture. My experience is that it also does just fine outdoors on sunny days and photos are not overexposed.HUGUETTE R : I haven't had any problem in bright light. I love the quality when you reduce for web view. Not as good in low light as the quality goes down when used in higher ISO. It's more suited for daylight than low light.David K : f/1.4 is the MAXIMUM aperture. in bright conditions the lens will stop down to something smaller. the camera is perfectly suited for all types of photography.
Janet F : What is the optical zoom on the Samsung EX2F?HUGUETTE R : In the title: http://www.adorama.com/ISGEX2F.htmlHUGUETTE R : I'm sure they use the 35mm as a reference otherwise everything would be confusing. So, yes. Sorry I just see your question now.David K : it's 24-85mm in 35mm equivalence

Beautiful Bright pics, but no viewfinder

Biggest advantage is the 1.4 aperture for bright photos and pic taking in low light. Camera is easy to use. The only thing I don't like is that it has no viewfinder. This would be OK if the screen didn't reflect so much. In sunlight, for example, you see your own mug on the screen and not the thing you are trying to photograph...

Best Camera that would fit in my pocket.

I my be settling in certain areas but the wifi sharing and iphone remote view and shoot make up for a lot of it.

Bought this camera as a replacement

I purchased this ex2f to replace my old olympus point & shoot used in my carpentry business for before and after pictures...usually indoor pictures. It does well but the flash doesn't pop up automatically. I've also found that it takes very good macro pictures. Forget manual focus unless your subject is dead, it just takes too long to focus! but the auto focus in macro and throughout works well and is very accurate. The display is worthless in bright sunlight and there apparently is no flash shoe view finder available. It really needs one. The display does prove to be a great mirror in the sun. I found the panorama mode fun and easy to use and over all the camera does what I want it to.

a small step up from the EX1

I previously owned the EX1 and found it to be a very nice camera. The fast lens was what originally drew me to this camera line. I take mostly night and low light photography. When I saw that a slightly faster lens was offered, I jumped on the opportunity to upgrade. One thing that I don't like about how this cameras firmware operates versus the EX1 pertains to the HDR capabilities. This camera line will take two exposure and automatically combine them. On the EX1, this was an options that you could turn on in most any mode you could use the camera. On the EX2F HDR is only presented as a preset in one "magic" or smart modes.

cool product

im a videographer and i use this for video purposes. i put on a wide adapter from samsung and the boom mic. do not buy the samsung boom mic for this. the pic up is horrible. only downside on the built in mic is that there is no level control in menu options. but the built in mic is excellent. i recommend for starting videographers.

About Samsung EX2F

Samsung EX2F the latest model in its growing range of Wi-Fi-enabled SMART CAMERAs. Following the success of the EX1 with F1.8 lens, the new model is engineered to deliver super-bright photography thanks to its F1.4 lens, the brightest in any compact camera. The high image and video quality of the EX2F also comes with the advantage of being able to store and share images remotely using Wi-Fi functionality. Encompassing Full Manual Control in a strong but lightweight body, the EX2F is ideal for DSLR-owners looking for more portable equipment to capture images spontaneously and subtly, and for photographers looking for a step-up in quality from their point-and-shoot whilst retaining ease-of-use and portability.

The Samsung EX2F combines a number of features to deliver incredible picture quality in all conditions. With the segment-leading advanced F1.4 24mm Lens, the wide range of aperture steps delivers clear images and video even in very low light conditions. These are easily controlled using the professional front wheel key and Dual Dials, which enable switching between parameters and modes quickly for greater manual control. The low-light capabilities of the EX2F are also added to by the 1/1.7" 12 Megapixel BSI CMOS sensor, which delivers clear, blur-free images - even when shooting objects in low-light situations.

Fusing quality with creativity, 1080/30p Full HD Movie Recording with stereo sound allows users to capture video in high enough quality to enjoy on a Full HD TV. The EX2F also allows still 12 Megapixel photos and video to be captured simultaneously using the Dual Capture feature, so that any scene can be shot as both photo and video.

The world's brightest compact camera lens
The EX2F's F1.4 24mm wide-angle lens is approximately four times as bright as a F2.8 camera lens. A further development is that the lens unit now consists of eleven elements in nine groups, with four aspherical lenses and two high refractive lenses. Combined, these provide a 20% increase in the amount of light on the sensor, a 20% increase in image quality and a 10% increase in zoom ratio.

The lens on the EX2F also incorporates a Neutral Density (ND) filter, giving the user greater control over exposure time in different conditions and making photos appear more neutral in situations of over-exposure. It also allows for shooting at a very shallow depth of field, so users can isolate their subjects from backgrounds to create stunning portraits. To make bright images clearer, the EX2F also includes Dual IS (OIS and DIS) to minimize the effect of shaking - particularly useful in low-light situations.

Complete control
Housed in a sleek yet durable high-intensity magnesium body, more commonly found on DSLR models, the EX2F combines high-end image quality with convenience and speed. For those accustomed to the level of creative control on DSLRs, the EX2F allows for shooting in RAW mode for professional standard pictures.

The EX2F also encompasses Full Manual Control as well as Aperture and Shutter Priority modes. The Dual Dial and front wheel keys also allow users to quickly and easily adjust exposure for effortless pro-style control. This is all combined into a body that is compact and light, making it possible to carry the camera anywhere for spontaneous shots without the complication and intrusiveness of a weighty DSLR.

Bright and intuitive display
The 3.0" Swivel AMOLED display is perfect for lining up great shots and viewing them under any light conditions - and does so whilstconsuming little battery power. The screen responds swiftly and displays images in high contrast, while the swivel display allows picture-taking from low and high angles - even self-portraits. The screen also incorporates Samsung's Smart Panel user interface, which integrates all parameters into one display for easy control over the end result.

Shooting and sharing from anywhere
The EX2F is the latest in Samsung's SMART CAMERA range of Wi-Fi-enabled cameras, which take the combination of high-quality imaging paired with connectivity to a new level. Wi-Fi connectivity enables the secure storage of images through Auto Backup to a PC or saving to the Cloud. In addition, sharing to social networking sites such as Facebook or Picasa is easy - or pictures can be sent via email.

The EX2F's Mobile Link opens doors for connectivity with smartphones, without even having to resize images or video. Users can also access the Remote Viewfinder to use their smartphone's screen to frame shots from a variety of angles. Through the SMART LINK button, all these functions can be accessed with one touch for simplified sharing and storage.
