Great Camera in a small package

Takes great photos out of the box in smart auto settings without a flash. I am a newbie to ILC and I could see enormous potential compared to using P&S and smartphone cameras like iphone 5s or note 3. I am still learning my way around manual settings but so far I am happy with the camera. Flash is also good and take photos with minimum lighting. Best thing is overall package is smaller than my S5 IS( P&S) I used earlier. I have not used the 3d aspect of lens as I dont have a 3d tv. But it takes very sharp photos. Briefly took a video and it is good though that is not very important as I am happy with videos from iphone or note 3. I need to buy a zoom lens like 16-50mm F3.5 next once that falls below $200.

Great small ILC with prime lens

i bought it recently through Adorama and it takes great photos right out of box with Smart Auto settings. I am still playing around manual settings and since I am a beginner still have not tried various settings. But compared to P&S or iPhone 5s/Note 3, it takes outstanding photos and the prime lens is fantastic for portraits which is what I mostly need it for. The camera with the 45mm prime lens is quite light and portable as well. I have not tried 3d photos or taken any videos so far. So cannot review that feature.

Great looking camera with flaws

I love the large CMOS and the camera's ability to shoot terrific photos in low light. Ergonomically, it has buttons in not so good places, which turn when my hands palm touches them just holding the camera. You have heard of butt dialing, this is similar. Secondly, the view screen is almost impossible to see in bright sun light, which pretty much make it useless on sunny days. I have turned up the brightness to max , but still extremely difficult to see clearly.

Great camera!

Perfect camera for amateur photographer looking for a good picture in compact fit. The 20-50mm lens works very well as a general lens, but if you really want to optimize the small camera, you need to go for a pancake lens - then it will fit on a baggy pocket no problem. Again, very happy with camera. It comes with adobe Lightroom, which I played with for a bit and found it a good tool (but I had to watch some utube videos). The only thing I think is pretty bad about the package is that it doesn't come with a battery charger - only a 1 ft USB cord... Are they penny pinching or what? I thought the brown color of the camera was a bit too much in real life - I thought it was going to be a bit more muted than it is. also I think the WiFi is an awesome feature, and why I did not buy a Sony. it is great to be able to email pictures directly from the camera

Superb Image Quality and Form

To begin with, I have a vast collection of digital cameras (mostly of the micro 4/3 variety) - shooting with the likes of the Olympus OMD, E-PL5, E-P3, and the Panasonic GF1, GF5, GX1, and G5. I also shoot with the likes of the wonderful Fuji X-E1 and more recently, the Canon EOS-M. I've never previously given any Samsung products much consideration - only because I thought they encompassed a very narrow, niche product line. That is up until recently. I started seeing superb image samples on various sites taken with this Samsung NX300, a new release at the time. And what kept grabbing my attention was the superb color tonality, depth to the images, and overall wonderful image quality exhibited by those images. So, contrary to my previous inclinations, I purchased the NX300 with the 18-55 (be sure to get that lens - not the 20-50). The 18-55 has the Image Stabilization, whereas the 20-50 doesn't. Once I received it, I was pleasantly surprised at the gorgeous build quality (I ordered the brown one which looks rich), but I must say that I was really disappointed by one simple thing...the fact that it didn't have a battery charger, and that you have to charge the battery in-camera. It didn't take me long to search out and purchase a 3rd party charger to charge the batteries because having to charge a battery in-camera is too much of a hassle. Handling wise, the camera is a treat to operate. It's quite fast in the AF department and everything just seems to fall into place with regards to button and knob placement, etc. Moving the AF points around the screen was a breeze, so I'm quite content. And yes, the LCD is huge, but be aware that if you don't put some type of anti-glare screen protector on the LCD, you will have an almost impossible time viewing scenes/images on it in bright outdoor sunlight. The NX300 really shines in very low light conditions and supports superb (low noise) high ISO scenarios with aplumb. It will keep up with the best cameras in the high ISO image department, that's for sure. So, the only reason I didn't give this NX300 5 stars was due to the fact that at this level, Samsung should have included a battery charger - which they didn't. You may expect this scenario from lesser point and shoot models, but not of a camera of this caliber. But this can be remedied by picking up one of the many inexpensive 3rd party battery chargers (Since Samsung doesn't have one for sale - at least not on the US market...as of yet). So if image quality is the end result, you cannot go wrong getting the NX300. Again, I ordered the brown version which has a rich look to it. The camera feels wonderful in the hand, is a breeze to operate, and it has completely erased any reservations I had about Samsung Cameras (save, perhaps, for the lack of a charger). I say go for it.....

Best Samsung NX Mirrorless DSLR to Date!

Having owned the NX200, then the NX210, I was obviously interested in the NX300. Unlike my NX200->210 transition, which was basically a WiFi only upgrade, the NX300 is a totally revamped beast and the changes are GREAT. From the faster ISO settings to the greatly improved wireless sharing performance, the NX300 has everything I want and became my primary camera during my trip to Yosemite National Park last week. Although the included 20-50mm lens is a great everyday compact lens that takes excellent photos, I chose to use the slightly higher end 18-55mm from my NX210 along with the 50-200mm (both offer OIS) I purchased with the NX300 (Adorama offers a nice bundle price on the camera kit + 50-200mm lens). All I can say is WOW – excellent performance on top of features! At first, I thought the use of the Samsung SmartCamera software would be more of a novelty, but I found the remote viewfinder and shutter trigger link via my Samsung Note-II smartphone to be a very cool and functional tool for elevated monopod shots of the Yosemite Valley above the tourists' heads. Having the adjustable LCD touch panel on the camera is just icing on the cake. Likewise, transferring photos via the NFC or standard 802.11 was smooth and surprisingly faster than expected. I also found the new embedded USB battery charger feature to be an improvement rather than relying on a dedicated external battery charger. Many of us already have USB based cigarette lighter adapters or external pocket-batteries we use for our phones and tablets. The NX300 joins that group and I never once missed the external wall-wart. The included USB power/sync cable plugs right into any USB port (computer, car adapter, pocket battery, etc.) and in no time the battery is topped off as needed. I could go on, but the button line is I am very happy with my purchase. The picture quality can go up against many solutions costing twice the price and the Samsung offers some features you simply cannot find is other cameras – at any price.

Excellent mirrorless camera

Excellent overall mirrorless camera, rivals Sony, good build quality, very easy to use in smart auto, outstanding picture quality and WiFi, only drawback is lack of a viewfinder
