The Samsung WB850F SMART Long Zoom Digital Camera (Black) is designed with more than image capture in mind. The WB850F is a WiFi enabled "travel zoom" camera that gives you the ability to send photos straight from the device. Users can email photos or share them on social networks from any WiFi hotspot. The WB850F also boasts free storage space on Samsung's AllShare Play and Microsoft Sky Drive, making user's photos accessible anywhere. Additionally, the camera uses GPS features and Live Landmark for downloading maps and finding information about local points of interest. The camera's Digital Compass also gives users their location and tells them how far they are from other locations.
Aside from all the great travel-friendly features, the WB850F also sports some decent optical specs as well. The camera has a 16Mp BSI CMOS sensor for capturing both stills and 1080p HD video. The 23mm Schneider wide-angle lens works together with 21x optical zoom, Dual Image Stabilization, a 3.0" AMOLED screen and numerous other functions to help you capture your memories with accuracy and clarity. Additionally, the camera also puts manual controls at your disposal for a full range of creativity not normally available in the point-and-shoot class.
The Samsung WB850F is popular because customers like the following qualities of the Samsung WB850F: Bright display, Built-in speakers, Durable, Inexpensive, Lightweight and Realistic color

Great Long Zoom camera
Here a short review of my latest gadget the Samsung WB850f Long zoom Camera: Purchased at my local Fry's store on sale, I decided to test this camera out. Not to mention that the quality of pics both outside and inside are just great! Did I forget to also mention that the camera also has the best focal magnitude in its class , going from 23mm up to a zoom of 21x ! all optical - I usually never use any of the digital zoom as I can do better on any digital imaging program) If you are looking for a megazoom compact camera and are able to get a price like I did, DO NOT HESITATE Grab one !

why just 1 star? The wonderful features, the beautiful photos, the ease of use and the sturdy construction makes this camera a dream! Received this camera for Christmas as a replacement for another Samsung camera. Have had a problem getting the battery to hold a charge. Now the shutter doesn't close completely when the camera is turned off.
The Camera is a great camera. But they lacked in a few features. Like, making it work with 64 bit OS and there is an issue with connecting to the galaxy S3 with remote viewfinder, which they should have caught before releasing the camera.
This camera has excellent features. The performance is amazing. The only disappointment is that AllShare Play does not seem to be fully implemented - a partial implementation allows connection with compatible TVs. However I am hoping that firmware updates will remedy this situation.
I love all the features in this camera the only problem would be the battery is not enough to support all the functionality of the phone.
My existing camera died on Sunday, November 18th. Needing a replacement for our family get-together on Thanksgiving, I ordered this one Monday the 19th, with the 2-day shipping option. Camera was delivered to my home early Wednesday afternoon, in plenty of time to familiarize myself with it so I could put it to use Thursday. Can't say enough good words about Adorama's customer service. They were able to get it shipped the same day I ordered it, and responded to my email inquiry promptly and courteously (Kudos to Sean and Vince). Won't even consider looking around next time I need something. These guys won me over with one sale. I've only had the camera a few days, so I'm not qualified to comment on overall picture quality throughout a range of conditions, but the photos I've taken so far look great. I can comment on the wi-fi, network, and GPS features of this camera. The wi-fi was a breeze to set up with my home network. Not outright plug-n-play, but as close as you can get to it. The camera found my wireless network right away. I entered the network password on the camera, and it connected in about 4 seconds. Once I had a connection to my PC, I tried the wireless Auto Backup feature. Works just fine. I set up the Remote Viewer on my Android phone (HTC EVO 4G) via the app available on Google Play. Again, the camera connected to my phone almost instantly. I snapped a few shots to try it, and it seems to work just as advertised. I also tried the Facebook upload feature. After entering my FB login credentials (entering text on the camera is done through the "scroll and click" method..kind of a pain, but since it's not a touch screen model, that's how it's done) I was able to upload photos right from the camera to FB. Comments to the photos can be added via the scroll and click routine. Again, works as advertised. The GPS found my location on initial start-up in about 4 minutes. Subsequent power-ups take 15-30 seconds to aquire location. It was able to find my location from within my house most of the time. Outside, it works all the time. All around, a very nice point and shoot for a casual clicker like me.
The camera is awesome! Excellent picture quality and great features. Updating the firmware doesn't work the way Samsung says it should however. They say unplug from the PC and push the shutter (OK) button. This camera has 1 of each and pushing either one does nothing. Then the camera is suppoosed to turn itself off. Mine stayed on till the battery ran down. However, when I attached the power cable and turned it on, it updated.
Nothing at this time. Shipping was very fast. I got it the next day after I order it in the Internet. Thanks..
This camera is just the perfect size for a 16 megapixel and 21X optical zoom unit. The pictures are sharp and colorful using the programmed mode alone. Once I become familiar with the aperture, shutter and manual features, the potential for truly spectacular pictures is unlimited. The WIFI feature is great, and I believe the GPS feature will be awesome once I learn how to uste it. I highly recommend this camera for all it's great features and compct size.
This camera is great. I got an awesome price. The only thing I would like to see it is a quick burst mode where it would shoot a bunch of pix rapidly. Also the hand placement points could be better, its a little awkward.
I purchased a camera before a long trip. I took nearly 1000 photos. Very good photo quality (for such camera), good photography capabilities, but the all features of WI FI or GPS, or not enough good or in some cases not work at all. Start time of GPS from 10 minutes to "not working". Incorrect locations. WI FI can not work with a big images. In my opinion, a company must change (ajust) Firmware and urgent, or anyone who needs GPS features need keep away from this camera.
