Excellent for the price
Got this lens because it fit in my small bag with my 16-80 zeiss and give me some extra reach in my quick carry bag. I wasn't expecting too much for the price but I'm impressed with the optics! The only other lenses I've seen at this quality for this price are Olympus. Not a fast lens but given it's size and weight combined with Sony's built in stabilizer it's very useful.

Awsome addition
Used my 18-55mm lense and the 55-200 lense on my
most recent Cruise.
Took 85 excellent, super quality, photos.
60 of these shots were with the 55-200 lense.
I could have left the smaller lense.
My 55-200mm is now my lense choice to have on the camera, in the ready mode.

Excellent product for the low price
I was going to purchase the SAL 75-300, but they were on back order in Honolulu, so I got this from my wife for Christmas. At first I thought it was too light to be a quality lens, but I was totally impressed with the great photos and the excellent range of this lens. The long distant photos were very clear and much better than expected. The weight is because of the plastic materials used, but has no effect over the outstanding pictures taken.
I was going to take this lens in when the SAL 75-300 comes in, but that " ain't goin' to happen." Aloha
