I?ve had a Sony cyber shot before but this is a newer model than my last one built to last easy to use takes good pictures what?s not to love

I bought this camera at the end of October in 2014 (it is now Feb 2017) to go to Thailand with. I specifically purchased it for the waterproof feature, but the photo and video quality is incredible. The photos and videos both dry and underwater are of incomparable quality to many of the photos and videos taken by friends and peers. I have used the camera for my own use, but I have also lent it to friends and family for their vacations and trips. This camera has been incredibly durable, and has a fantastic operational range, having been on at least 15 field trips and vacations: pack trips through the Rocky Mountains, where temperatures are below freezing, ice fishing, Thailand, Mexico, a cruise through the Carribean, Jamaica, and most recently has just returned from a field trip to Bamfield Marine Sciences Centre, having spent a very chilly day out on the open ocean (water at 7 degrees Celcius, ambient temperature 3 degrees Celcius). This camera is also "overqualified" for every day photography, having been used during Alberta's very cold winters during snow storms all the way through to photographing pets and children during the hot summer days. The sole issue that I have with this camera is that the lens cover which slides down to expose the lens and power on the camera, or slides up to power off, has a gap between the sliding cover and the inner plate where the lens is just the right width for a single grains of sand to fit in. I have been very vigilant about ensuring the sand is cleaned before closing the lens cover, and the lens is still in perfect condition, but the face plate around the lens, the length of the camera has been scratched three times. Overall, this camera is incredible, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a small, lightweight-but-heavy-duty, durable, waterproof camera.

This is a handy everyday camera which is so compact that it is not such a drag carrying it around. All controls bar zoom come from the touch screen. I bought it in particular because a friend had one and took amazing macro photographs, something I like doing of plants

Tx30 is my second camera after tx20 (which RIP beyond repair) It's the best portable camera which I have came across comparing the current brand available. Love it's size, image and built quality, especially taking underwater photographs in the pool. It have been a while since the birth of tx30, will definitely buy tx40 if it launches. :) However in Malaysia is always out of stock, perhaps it's a good sign I guess.

I just plain love this camera. My first was a DSC-T70, then DSC-T10, then DSC-T30 black which I gave to my niece and now a DSC-T30 orange for me.

I originally purchased the TX10 about 3 years ago. I was very pleased with it's water resistance until I took it to Key Biscayne in Miami. I took about 20 photos and none of them made it to the memory card. Then the screen went fuzzy - like an old tv that couldn't tune into a signal. However, I was very pleased with the compact size so decided to buy another one. This one feels a little more sturdy and has some nice features. I couldn't get the 3D to work, but the continuous shot feature was nice to have at the last pool party. It takes decent pictures - not nearly as nice as a DSLR, but I've never found a waterproof DSLR!

I like that it is impact and water resistant. It has 3 different shades of blue which didn't show or specified online prior to purchase and its heavier than the prior version of it. I had first version and use to carry it as a wristlet because it was so light, this one is much heavier and has exactly the same features.

This camera takes good pictures and has the typical Sony features which I like. However, I wanted to use the camera when I went snorkeling. It did function under water and take pictures, but I could NOT see the screen at all when there was any sunlight! It was completely dark. So, since I have another very good Sony camera (Nex7), I can't figure out a use for this one.

I had the old Sony Cyber-Shot and liked it!....But this one is wonderful and water proof! Amazing the upgrades from my old one purchased in 2004 and it was 3 times the price of my new one!

A good camera but it suffers from lens distortion close up. Very impressive macro feature. The catch on the battery cover is a bit fiddly.

My wife used it a couple times to try it out and it takes great pictures. She used it once under water and it hasn't worked since. We followed the directions to a tee, but after the use in water, it never worked again. Now I have the same camera (black) and used it (in the water) the sad n e time she did and mine still works. Haven't heard from anybody if they'll repair or replace. Buyer be ware.

I take a lot of underwater pictures so this camera was ideal for me. The big screen allows me to see clearly what I'm taking and the touchscreen is pretty receptive under the water. Love Sonys for their sensors so lovely colours in/out of the water. HD is handy too!

This camera is great for taking quick pictures. Easy to use. Focuses quickly and captures colors wonderfully. The video is also good quality. It is small and compact, so easy to travel with. Battery also lasts a good amount of time. The Sony cyber-shot model I had before was also good, except battery/card door broke and could not be replaced. I had it for 3 years and got very good use out of it. I've used this camera under water in swimming pools and on freshwater river trips.

The camera is great and has lot of interesting features, which some are really useful. However, you have so many options that may take too much time until you realize which of them are suitable for different occasions and the access to them are not so straightforward to remember each time you are going to use it. Another issue is an internal sound performed by the camera which is captured when you are shooting a movie. It seems to be the internal mechanics of the camera working all the time. Additionally, the software to online store your pictures are terrible to share pictures with other people because they require that all of them are regitered and they cannot download the pictures. I did not test it under water but the water and sand resistant will be a feature used when the summer comes. Despite the few cons I point it out, I still recommend it because it takes excellent pictures and it is small enough to take it with you to anywhere.

Bought this 2013 model recently in Dubai. Great little compact camera which is an improvement on previous TX10 etc. Goes down to 10 metres underwater now and has increased resolution.

I used to have a Sony cybershot.Then it was the time to change it. I bought another brand that I did not like to use at all. It was a smart camera, but very slow and I could not take such quality photos as i used to did with my Sony Cybershot. So I decided to buy this Sony DSC-TX30, although I spent so much on my other camera. I am really happy with my new Sony. Its menu very easy to use, very logic. It is very fast which is very important to me with 2 children. Nevertheless it is water resistant, looks very trendy, light weight, small size and it is colourful (I have orange :)))

Recently purchased prior to holiday. Very easy to use and love the features and help guide on camera. No need for manual as it's all on camera. Picture clarity exceptional, even underwater. Only downside is the screen is too reflective when using in sunlight. Found myself guessing when taking pictures. Fortunately had good aim and pictures great.
