Good for traveling, I'm an aviation enthusiast and use to visit many air museums, but this camera is not good for low light. I chenged it for an Alpha 580.

Have, so far, used the Sony A380 DSLR in several situations, such as family gatherings, portraits and sporting events such as dressage events, football, and motor sports, all of which require the capture of fast moving action. Outstanding Photos, never disappointed.

I use it mainly for travel, it's very light when you have to walk a lot for shooting good pics.

After owning this camera for 3 months I'm absolutely in love. Very light and easy to use, and takes great photos. Setting it up manually is very simple and the buttons and dials are very well placed when taking a photo, making it simple to adjust settings on the fly.

I've been watching video reviews on the new alpha series, but I've specifically focused on the new Sony Alpha 380. So far, in terms of performance, camera reviewers have not pointed notorious improvements on image quality. I have to say that I'm disappointed about the new design; it has been simplified, when many of us expected a more professional look, an improvement from the Alpha 350, not a step down. The dial was removed! Why in the world would anyone do that to a DLSR of it's class? I would've recommended to switch the left buttons to the right from the Alpha 350, get the dial and aperture button closer to each other, and incorporate the color screen: that would've made the perfect Alpha 380. Now, instead of considering to upgrade to an Alpha 380, I'd recommend a Nikon. I really hope you don't do the same to the Alpha 700. Many of us would like to see models more competitive with Nikon and Canon.
