Invaluable in manually focusd macrophotography. Helps in some telephotography, too. Seems a little pricey, but I reckon that's the way things are in the photography biz, especially when purchasing from camera manufacturers.

In my macro photography work I find it helpful to have some additional magnification when doing fine detail/shallow depth of field work. This maginifer works well for focusing (which I strictly use manual focus for macro work). I use this magnifier on my Canon XTi camera. It does not fit the Canon Xti eyepiece however, BUT if you purchase the Pro Optic Angle Finder it comes with eyepiece adapters that this unit will attach to. As for Cons, it tends to crop the viewfinder information quite a bit, but since it flips up without having to detach from the camera it isn't too much trouble to compose first and then flip it down to assist in focusing.

Get closer to your subject with your Sony a (alpha) DSLR-A100 camera and the FDA-M1AM magnifier. Ideal for close-up and macro photography the magnifier enlarges the viewfinder image by approximately 2.3 times giving you a more detailed view of your subject.
