Awesome product that works perfectly!

I'm using this battery so I have backup on my long vacation!

OEM battery is great

from SF Bay Area  -  Casual Photographer

My original battery wasn't holding a charge like it used to so I got this as a backup for a big vacation that's coming up. Not all batteries are created equal, so I wanted to get the original from Sony.

A genuine Sony battery

from Vancouver, BC  -  Photo Enthusiast

This is an excellent genuine Sony battery. I wanted it as a second battery for travelling. A must have so I won't miss those important shots.

how do they do that?

from san diego, ca  -  Casual user

It's good because it's cheaper but it has short battery life. I don't know if that's really how it is or what. I guess it's better to have a spare rather than nothing at all.

I haver had no problem at all with either of the batteries. One came with the camera and the other I purchased from Adorama as a spare.

Questions about this item:

Shopper  Why Did You Choose This?
PETER J  As a bachup to the camera's working battery
Arlene F  Is this a brand new battery, and not a refurbished battery?
PETER J  The battery I bought came in a manufactuers sealed package so to the best of my knowledge it was new. In use it functions like the battery that came new with the camera, I rotate batteries as they need charging and can't distinguish one from the other.
Shopper  Is this camera recommended for a beginner?
DAVID N. B  The specific camera model I purchased has been discontinued. But the current model that is similar is the DSC-WX300/W ($299). It is also the most expensive. I would not recommend this camera for a beginner unless the individual really wants to easily shoot panoramas, very high ISO film speeds (enables very low lighting), and a 20x OPTICAL zoom. The other cameras in this line don't have panorama capability, have lower ISO speeds and only 5X optical zoom. (PS: digital zoom has poor results if you make an enlargement.) If the above features in the DSC-WX300/W aren't needed, I would pick the DSC-W730/L ($109). This is $20 more than the least expensive, but worth it. The next step up is $60 and $190 to the DSC-WX300/W. They have features that are very nice, but of dubious value to a beginner when the cost is factored in. Hope this helps!
