The Jobu Design Surefoot Body Plate 3 for DSLR Cameras without Battery Grip is a camera plate for DSLR photographers who do not require a battery grip for their shooting style, but wish to have an Arca-Swiss-compatible plate for mounting their camera to ball heads, gimbals and other accessories.
The BP-3 plate features a small curved lip that sits just below the LCD of Canon 5D and 7D cameras. This prevents any twisting between the camera (The plate also fits Nikon D7000, D3000 and D5000 cameras, but it mounts these models backwards.) There's a 1/4"-20 screw for attaching the plate to your camera, of course and Jobu has decided that a wing-nut or thumbscrew would only contribute to this plate's eventual loosening, so the manufacturer has eschewed employing either one for this design.
A 1/4"-20 threaded hole enables direct attachment to a monopod, a ball head with no quick-release mechanism, a tripod, or to a quick-release strap system (such as a Black Rapid strap).
