Questions & Answers

Pit F : How does it work this slave?!JON G : It fires as a slave when it senses another main flashANDREW R : This slave unit screws into nearly any lamp with a standard light bulb base. Flash is triggered optically, i.e., when another flash in the vicinity goes off this unit also fires.
Shopper : Can you change light settings on a slave strobe for hair light? Working on studio portrait lighting and the video I'm watching shows the silver dish used as a hair light set at F8.JAMES H : Most slave strobes like this that fit in a light socket do not offer any adjustment. To adjust the level of light, you can use a flash meter and adjust the subject to flash distance, or place a material between the slave and the subject like tracing paper or a softbox head or other diffuser to reduce the light level if required.RANDY K : No, the strobe is not variable power. It fires at full power each time,so you'll have to find a way to diffuse the light or bounce it to control the output.MIKE P : I do not believe so. Suspect you must change settings on the camera to accommodate.
Shopper : Will this also work as a slave to another flash?RANDY K : Yes it works great, I have two masters, and they work with each other and also my big Travelite strobes all the time in the studio. I highly recommend this unit.MIKE P : Yes. That is the reason I purchased it. It works well. Delivery was longer than expected but received it in excellent condition.KATHY B : Yes. It is an awsome strobe. I use it all the time. I use it as a third light when shooting large groups, as a hair light, and as kicker lights. It will go off with any flash. It is very sensitive. That is it's only draw back. I have 4 of them. I hope this answers you questions. Yes a flash will set it off.

Extremely pleased

I was extremely pleased with the output of these flashes for the value. The range is fantastic and the brightness is very effective. great response on slave. Of course it is vulnerable to Point & Shot flash theft. I also recommend a second diffuser or shadow box. This flash unit is extremely bright and can throw some strong shadows.
