The pack and the monopod made a nice package at a good price, and both have been useful. However, I don't consider the pack really adequate for two DSLRs, plus all the extra stuff one usually needs. I used it for a cruise to pack one camera with lens attached, some accessories, a parka and a laptop. All were protected, and the pack served as a carry-on in the airplane. As for the monopod, its foot came off, but I have ordered a replacement from Bogen/Manfrotto. I would recommend this to a friend, with caveats.

Used the KATA 466i for the first time last week on vacation trip via airline. The backpack held my dSLR and three lenses plus filters, battery charger, extra batteries with no problem. This bottom compartment has very usable dividers and allowed for storing the camera with a moderate zoom lens attached for relatively quick storage and retrieval. The computer sleeve on the back held my notebook, its charger, and several magazines for reading on airplane. The top compartment held my passport, note pad and pens, sunglasses, and miscellaneous stuff. And there were still several small zippered compartments that held my cell phone during xray screening, etc. The interior yellow lining makes finding small items very easy. All that and it fit under the seat during flight or in the overhead bin even on the small regional jets. Just what I was looking for! Especially for the price, this bag is well made and very handy. I wish that the straps converted to a slingback style as well as traditional backpack style, but that's nitpicking. It holds so much that you have to watch out for how heavy it can get, although the bag itself is very lightweight. I did not take the monopod that came free with the bag on this first trip, but will do so on the next trip next week. So I can't comment on how well the exterior strap that holds it works just yet.
