The machine is useless for (my) business since, when remoting in to my work server through Citrix it makes the machine crash. Why, you ask? Because Citrix is not supported by Konica Minolta. So if I want to print something from work I need to email it to myself, and print from home. Nor can you print from an iPhone or iPad since there are no apps available for doing so.

For the most part, I am very pleased with my Konica Minolta. However, the little screen on the top front of the printer is hard to read because it is too dark. I have to strain to read it or use a flashlight. I would suggest that you put a little light on this screen. When I began to get a message on my monitor that I was using a non-Konica Minolta toner cartridge and that your warranty does not cover any troubles caused by a used toner cartridge or non-Konica Minolta toner cartridge, I was miffed. The printer is practically new and it came with the ink cartridge! I called tech help and he had me look at the screen and read what it said. With great difficulty, I was able to discern that it said "toner out", which the tech help said meant that I am out of ink. I would like to suggest that you work out a system whereby, if the printer runs out of ink, that this erroneous message does not come up. A better message might be a warning that I am running out of ink, and then a final message that I am out of ink. Therefore, you may not have customers calling and asking why it said that we were not using the proper toner. Also, I was avoiding checking the little information screen on the printer because it was too hard to read. Aside from these two complaints, I'm quite happy with the printer. I'm quite shocked by the price of a new ink toner! When I called about the message on my monitor, the first tech helper did not know why it gave that message, either. He worked with me for quite a while, but couldn't get the message to go away. He said he would pick the brains of his co-workers and call me back, but he never did. So, after a few days, I called back. Today's tech help was able to tell me what was wrong, by encouraging me to read what the little screen said. It said "toner out".

I've bought this product for my office manager. She needed a Good Scanner, Fast Printer and a Fax. I was very pleased and Bought another one for my front Desk People to be used as Fax Machine and at the odd times we need to service our professional heavy duty copier. Once I've made one flyer with it I stop using Staples for this function and saved quite allot of $$. Toner CPP is about 2000-3000 which is twice the average for similar machines, however none with the same quality of color prints. Which makes its still a great deal for the $$

I purchased the Konica 1690MF because we use the Konica Printer Line at work, at least 10 of em, the big Corporate models, They have been faithful for the last 6 years and durable we print >30k sheets a week. So I naturally felt confident about the 1690MF. I was not disappointed, It is fast, quiet, and has the superior quality I was expecting.....GREAT PRINTER

Can't beat the price. When the toner runs out just buy a new unit as it is cheaper than buying the toner.

Used an inkjet for my color printing, and a black lasar printer. Color Konica replaced both - pleasant surprise in color picture quality. Lets face it inkjets are a pain and ink sucks out of the cartridges fast like the money out from my wallet when i replace them. I bought the color copier printer after the toner in my old lasar printer was low, and am happy with my decision.

This laser printer is used in a home setting, Printouts include items for high school and college reports and a few work related printouts. They vary from text to graphics. The directions for set up were not real clear, but I was able to get it running after loading ALL the software. One issue I have with it, is when you turn it on, the lights in the room with it flicker for about 20-30 minutes before settling down. For the most part, we keep it off until needed. It is running on a network with 5 PCs, playstation 3, kindle and a couple of iPods. Price was excellent, I can't speak to the consumables yet.

So far I'm pretty happy with this. It DOES work with 64 bit encryption. The manuals are pretty hard to figure out - mostly wierd pictures and there's no customer service at all - I called and never heard back. But I got it going anyway and have made copies and printed documents and a photo with good results. For the price, brilliant!

Not a very good product as it was faulty. However, the customer service from Andro. and the manufacturer was very good, but bad product.

This is a great buy, once I finally got it up and running it only took one call to KM tech support and they had to redirect the drivers in order for it to work. But it has been fine ever-since.

I couldn't set it up and had to wait half an hour on hold for tech support. It took their technician several hours to install it, but it's great now that it's working.

I bought this printer to replace my old HP Office jet 8500 a909. That printer was an ink-jet printer and it ate up ink, it was extremely unreliable and the warm-up time was over 2 minuets. Because of these problems, I will never buy an HP printer again. This Konica Minolta in contrast is very reliable, and has a fast warm-up time (26 Seconds). The only issue I have is the scanning software; it doesn't have text conversion software like the HP printers do. Other than that, it is great.

This is my third Magicolor printer and all have been good printers for my home. They always print nice and fast. I am a laser fan and from experience I stay away from inkjets. One snag I had with this 1690MF was setting up drivers for windows 7 64-bit. The scan driver took the longest to figure out. I had to call Konica to resolve it. As far as the noise, this printer is definitely louder than an inkjet. But, it's ten times faster than an inkjet. This is a trade I will do every time.

Machine noise is not as bad as others have commented. Great black quality printing.

I'm very pleased so far with this product. I particularly love the scanner, it's fast and very efficient. I think this will turn out to be a great long term printer for my home office needs.

Quick wake-up time is the most important thing to me. I print spreadsheets, proposals, and spec sheets on a daily basis. I don't know if it will ever print 20 pages per minute, but it goes fast enough for me. Color test page was good. Scanner works just OK. The drivers only let me do two scans at a time before I lose communication. When scanning a sheet of paper, the edges tend to ripple just a little bit when under the scan bed. As just a straight printer, I'm very happy so far. I was able to do the network set up by myself after a little tweaking.

We use our Konica Minolta 1690mf to print our 50/page training manuals (about 50/month). If we had large color photos we would need higher resolution, but for our needs...with clipart images and and smaller photos we are VERY pleased. This is our 2nd Konica Minolta printer to own in six years, and we are EXTREMELY pleased with the product and the support. Our 1690 is a reliable work horse. If there is a problem, (and there have been very few), Konica Minolta takes care of it. They treat their customers well. In my opinion KM has the ABSOLUTE BEST support services of any IT company that I have seen ANYWHERE...and I have purchased and owned lots of computers and printers. If there is ever a problem we can rest assured Konica Minolta will take care of it. They are not like some of the big computer/printer companies that jack you around. KM stands behind their products. If you have a problem...they fix it or replace it with no hassles, promptly[...] There are so many IT companies out there that treat their customers like [*]! It's great to do business with a company like KM that is conscientious and takes care of their customers. My next printer purchase will definitely be a Konica Minolta.

The machine does have a nice, small footprint. It was very easy to install...the hardest part was getting it out of the box...that was tricky. The setup was quick and painless after purchasing the required Ethernet and USB cables. They should really come with IMHO. It's a bit noise to have on the desk next to you and the warm up time is a bit long. I'm making room for it elsewhere in the office. All in all, it's a good little machine...particularly for the price.

I'm using this unit in home office, replacing old printers and a fax machine. It's got everything I need, copy/print/fax, color laser and networking capable, all under $250! I set it up as a network device so that all PCs in the house can share it, although it took me a while to make it to work. The unit is kind of noisy when it is active (even in ready mode). I set the energy save mode to start in 5 minutes when inactive. This helps but will take time to restart. Oh well, I think I can live with that. Overall, I'm happy with it so far.

I use this little printer in my home office. It does very well for color letterhead, faxing etc. It needs a better interface with the computer for faxing from the computer. I don't think it will confirm receipt of faxes, but it does confirm non-receipt of faxes. Overall it is a very good machine for the price and with its small footprint perfect for home office use.
