I love this L- Bracket. Life is so much easier using this bracket on my tripod for vertical shots. It provides stability. Before using this bracket I would have to keep tightening my plate, due to my heavy lens slipping when shooting vertically. Those days are gone thanks to my new L-Bracket. It is truly worth the money spent.

Simple and effective. Solid construction. Works perfect with my Benro B0 Dual Action Ballhead. Provides adequate access to remote release and other side mounted connections when the plate is mounted. I found this access requires leaving a gap of approx. 1/4" between the bracket and camera body, which has not proven to be an issue. The bracket is adjustable to accommodate this. Love the fact that the monitor cover can remain in place with this bracket installed.

I recently upgraded from my D7000 to a D600. Because the bodies are so similar, I thought I could re-use my old L-bracket on the new camera. No dice – they are close, but not that close. So I went with the new bracket, specifically designed for the D600. As you would expect with Kirk brackets, this is sturdy, heavy, and fits the body like a glove. And it takes about 10 seconds to install. I'd give it 5-stars, but see it as just short of excellent for one reason. With the bracket installed, it's impossible to open the doors (mic, HDMI, USB, GPS) on the left side of the camera. Yes, you can loosen the screw on the bottom and slide the bracket over, but just how often do you want to do that? I prefer to use the USB port to download pictures, but have gotten used to popping out the data card instead. As for the price, it's definitely not cheap. But when using a tripod, the L-bracket gives you the ability to switch camera orientation from landscape to portrait almost instantly, rather than tilting the head. If you use a tripod any more than "very infrequently", you really need one of these.

A little trouble opening little doors on side of camera (a paper clip is perfect if one is close by when needed). Otherwise it works sell on my Nikon D610. The paper clip solution is quicker than loosening the screw and sliding the L-bracket to the side.
