I had a rare opportunity to use chrome film on an assignment recently for the first time in years. Most of the time I used the 100 version of Elite, but for the dusk, indoor and dark times I used Elite 200 with a 1-stop push. I was thrilled with the results. Color is saturated but natural, grain is tight and uniform, and the blacks are out of this world. Black black black! This is where chrome film sings and beats digital in emotional intensity in my opinion. I believe this film really shines with a push to 400. Kodak claims it can go to 800 easily but I didn't try it. I will next time. I believe this is no longer being produced, so I'm stocking up as much as I can for my freezer. Such a shame. If film is going out (which sadly it is), it's going out with a bang.

It does seem to be the best 200 of the Ektachrome "family" to date. To me it seemed slightly cooler than Elite 100, but I like the contrast of this Elite 200 better than earlier versions.

A true 200-speed film delivering superior grain in general picture-taking under bright, moderate, and even lower light conditions
ELITE Chrome Film is the most versatile film family for capturing a variety of images under different lighting conditions. It is the best family of slide films for delivering both saturated colors and natural skin tones. Its superior grain makes it ideal for projection.
