Good buy if you use TMAX

from Rochester, NY  -  Semi-pro Photographer

Sometimes certain films like TMAX won't clear up no matter how many hours you leave them in the fix. I discovered that HCA will remove the faint purple cast and light frosting on negatives in only a few minutes. The tint on TMAX negatives shouldn't be confused with inadequate fixing; sometimes it just comes out a little more colorful. HCA works by dissolving insoluble fixing products and is designed to speed up fixing and make the negative/paper last longer, but it also helps get the negatives crystal-clear. I also appreciate it speeding up the bottleneck in the fix bath when I'm printing.

Would be better having a liquid one like the Ilford Washaid, but can't complain!
