Questions & Answers

JAMES M : Why is Kodak portra 400 220 a close out, shouldn't it be cheaper?KJRSTEN M : Word on the street is that Kodak is discontinuing portra 400 in 220.
Shopper : looking for the advanced film for my minolta camera model 300 it is 35 mm and it is abalong looking at the end. thanks ken ?ANDREAS L : This is Medium format 220 film. If you have the Minolta x300, you need Kodak Portra 400 35mm- 36 exposures. See link: <a href="http://www.adorama.com/KKP40036PP.html" target="_blank">http://www.adorama.com/KKP40036PP.html</a>STEPHEN L : Ken, I like the Kodak Portra 400 Color Negative Film ISO 400, 220. The grain-size is the smallest in a 400 ISO speed print film which shows very well in a 5 foot wide print from my 6x7 medium format negative. I don't recommend blowing up 35mm to that size, but all things considered it has the smallest grains available. Color negative print film in general has avery wide color gamut compared to the narrow range of color transparency film. I like to scan my negatives using SilverFast 8 software at 64bit HDRI and process in Silverfast 8 HDR. That way I am able to print the full range of information available from my color negative, probably 7-10 stops. The colors are brilliant and the tonal range is gorgeous. Hope that helps, Bet regards, Steve.HENRY N : I question how much longer size 220 film will be available. All film companies stopped making 220 slide film and it appears Kodak print film is going the same way. My 220 Hasselblad film backs will sone be worthless.RANDAL P : There are 2 Minolta cameras that might be called a 300 If your camera is this a Minolta-Vectis-300 then your film is APS film. I do not see APS film at Adorama so you may have to look at a different vendor. Maybe one that reminds you of Brazil. If your camera is a X-300 then any regular 35 mm film will work.
Shopper : Is this for one roll? Or a whole box?????????MARTIN D : The $12.69 price is for a single roll.RAFIL K : One roll.JOSEPH J : This should be a unit price for one single roll. As you may know, 220 film is the same size as 120, it just includes twice as much in a roll. This is why a single roll is priced appropriately at roughly double that of 120 film.ALAN E : One roll.

Fills the 400nc void in my hart

This took the place of 400NC in the kodak color negative film line up. I like it just the same as NC. I am glad you can still get this emulsion in 220. Scans well on an Imacon scaner as it should.

The new PORTRA 400 is the world's finest grain high-speed color negative film. At true ISO 400 speed, this film delivers spectacular skin tones plus exceptional color saturation over a wide range of lighting conditions.

For years, professional photographers have preferred KODAK PROFESSIONAL PORTRA Films because of their consistently smooth, natural reproduction of the full range of skin tones.

In that same tradition, the new PORTRA 400 Film is the ideal choice for portrait and fashion photography, as well as for nature, traveland outdoor photography, where the action is fast or the lighting can't be controlled.
