About Lensbaby Composer Pro

The Lensbaby Composer Pro refines and enhances the popular and award winning Lensbaby Composer by upgrading the swivel ball and focus mechanism to provide professional performance. The Composer Pro's metal swivel ball design and refined focus mechanism deliver ultra-smooth focus and tilt control. The updated focus mechanism features a fluid and accurate dampened focus ring comparable to the focus mechanisms of the highest quality professional manual focus lenses.

This smooth, fluid operation makes the Composer Pro the perfect choice for discerning professional photographers and videographers who want to create ground-breaking creative imagery. The Composer Pro ships with the Sweet 35 Optic installed. The Sweet 35 delivers a sweet spot of sharp focus that photographers can move around the photo by tilting the Composer Pro's swiveling lens body. It is a 35mm selective focus optic with a 12-blade internal aperture, boasts the widest focal length of any selective focus Lensbaby optic and features close-focus capabilities.

Lensbaby Composer Pro Features

  • No electronic communication is possible between the camera and the lens. All operation is strictly manual. Automatic light metering is possible by shooting in aperture priority mode for almost all digital and film SLR camera bodies
  • 12-blade diaphragm adjustable aperture
  • High-quality optic with 4 multi-coated elements in 3 groups
  • The Composer Pro features a unique manual focus design which requires more rotation to move the optic as you approach infinity. This makes it easier to focus on objects at intermediate and distant depths than regular manual focus lenses

Fun and Sharp

By

from Washington, DC  -  Photo Enthusiast

I love this lens! It adds some fun to my "snapshots" and inspires me to step out of my comfort zone a bit. Highly recommend, the photos are beautiful with this lens! It's manual focus, so there is a learning curve.

A fun gadget.

By

from West Covina, CA  -  Semi-pro Photographer

I bought this lensbaby lens for close ups of flowers. It is something that will take practice, lots of it, to master this little gem. So far it is fun, however, I have deleted a lot of photos. I will keep practicing until I master it.

A Soluition for a "Busy" Photograph

By

from Rohnert Park, CA  -  Photo Enthusiast

Often a great shot is complicated by "busy" surroundings. The selective focus area of this lens solves the problem nicely and saves post-photo processing. The very wide F/2.5 opening helps a lot with low-light photographs.

Lensbaby Composer Pro w/Sweet 35 Optic

By

from New Orleans, Louisiana  -  Semi-pro Photographer

I now use the Lensbaby Composer Pro with the Sweet 35 Optic almost exclusively in my sports and street photography. After shooting with "standard" lens for all of my career the Lensbaby system makes me feel like a kid again. The Composer Pro is very straight forward in it's design and function. As is the Sweet 35 Optic. The learning curve was very shallow. Once you have a basic knowledge of how the system works all thats left is to have fun. And I have been having a lot of fun since making this purchase. Thank you Lensbaby and Adorama!

This is Realy Fun!

By

from Rohnert Park, CA  -  Photo Enthusiast

It is amazing how a "busy" backgound can be minimized with one of these. I use the widest lens opening and let the camera pick the shutter speed. It could not be easier!

Fun Lens great price

By

from Cuba, NY  -  Photo Enthusiast

I have had this lens for two weeks and must admit that it takes some getting use to. However, if you take the advice on the web page and start out usinf f4-5.6 things become easier. I also like that the manual nature of this lens is helping me expand my photographic knowledge and skill. I like this lens but if you are not patient it may not be the lens for you.

Jurry is still out.

By

from Lander, WY  -  Semi-pro Photographer

It will give your light meter issues which I understand why. It is very sharp even with the Sweet 35 optic and a professional lighing setup. It could be very difficult to focus for users that don't understand how this lens works. It can create very nice bokeh and interesting looks. The jurry is still out on this one. I will still keep playing with it.
