If you wish to mount one of these to either side of your tripod they will "face" different directions-that is, they must be installed in opposing configuration because there is no way (apparently) to reconfigure the right arm so that it matches the left. The right arm is shown in the product image-imagine that you want the thumb screw on the left to be beneath the arm so that the symmetries of both arms match. I tried to disassemble my unit but it doesn't seem possible. No instructions were included with the unit.
