Description
With its impressive angle of view of 107°, this new TRI-ELMAR conquers 16 mm super wide-angle photography in perfect Leica M style. Due to the minimal distortion and barely perceptible field curvature, it can be recommended for highly demanding architecture photography even at the 16 mm setting.
Used on thedigital M8, it produces the image effect of a 21 - 28 mm lens, still enabling extreme wide-angle views. The ultra compact shape is achieved by two aspherical elements.
A new design of the interior focusing significantly enhances the quality in the close-focus range through an adaption of the floating element principle. Brilliant field depth can therefore be used from a distance of 0.33m for hyperfocal photography. Save money by buying the lens in a set together with the Universal Wide-angle Viewfinder M. (included in this version)
The LEICA UNIVERSAL WIDE-ANGLE VIEWFINDER M enables precise cropping of the subject with the LEICA TRI-ELMAR-M f/4/16-18-21 mm ASPH. on the LEICA M7 and MP as well as the digital LEICA M8. For the LEICA M8, the focal length extension factor of 1.33x has to be considered, so in this case the bright-line frames for21, 24 or 28 mm are set on the LEICA UNIVERSAL WIDE-ANGLE VIEWFINDER M. A parallax compensation dial enables adjustment of the frame to the focusing distance in five steps.
Thanks to one aspherical lens element and one with achromatic correction, the LEICA UNIVERSAL WIDE-ANGLE VIEWFINDER M is insensitive to stray light and features high resolution and exceptional brilliance. An illuminated spirit level helps to keep the camera horizontal even in unfavorable light conditions. The eyepiece has a screw mount for optionally available diopter correction lenses.
