The glue on the metal frame that sticks to the LCD simply did NOT adhere well enough to hold the viewfinder to the LCD on my 5D Mrk II. I have read dozens of good reviews and cannot understand why I have to get the "bad" one. Lucky me. Since it is not functional, I have to go with the more expensive models that attach to the tripod screw hole. If you have any doubt about a glue on metal adapter, shell out (more than double) for a secure model. I never get away with the "bargain" brand.

The viewfinder itself is great, just as described. The mounting hardware is also as described, however the two don't work so well together. The viewfinder only has a few small points of metal for it to hold on to the magnetized mounting plate, therefore it is constantly falling off and getting sand/dirt on the metals contact points so it has to be wiped off before it will reattach. The metal mounting plate's finish chipped and started to rust pretty quickly. And after a few months of work in hot/humid climates the adhesive on the mounting plate just failed. If you are looking for a loupe to hand-hold to check your focus, this is great. If you are looking for a viewfinder for video work, look for something else with a more stable mount (like attaching to the tripod mount), which doesn't seem to be available on this website.

Yes, it's pretty expensive, but if you have the money, it will completely change the way you do video. I blew my end-of-term bonus on it, and I'm never looking back. If you're serious about video, you need one of these.
