LG Super-Multi Portable External USB 2.0 DVD Rewriter with M-Disc

I bought this about a month ago and it works great - sometimes. It seems to work when it wants to and works well then. I'm having to remove the CD/DVD and re-insert it to get it to restart where it left off. Love it when it works well, but not happy with the starting and stopping.

I did not even open the box that this product came in because I purchased a computer with a DVD-RW drive installed (rare, I know! from Dell. So, there was no longer a need for this product. I am sure it would have been excellent though, so I am giving it four stars.

Just what I needed. Sometimes you get a disc snd need a disc drive to play,read and record on. This one ?fits the bill.? Easy set up and install with application options.

Plug and play with Windows 10. Attached the device through the USB cable included with the purchase and the system identified it immediately. Was able to create a system repair disk for a gaming computer that had no internal CD/DVD. Write speed was exactly as identified in the system specifications. Great purchase for the money.

I'm giving this thing 3 stars for now because it is nicely compact and has performed well so far, but rating is subject to change depending depending how long it lasts. I have little hope I'll be adding a star though as it certainly seems pretty cheezy and cheaply made, and the software that came with it is absolutely atrocious, failing miserably on both attempts.

I have Windows 10 so I did have to download additional software but this drive answered all the items on my check list, it is small enough it doesn't take up a huge amount of space, travels easy with my laptop and I can watch movies on my desktop from my dvd collection now. I would recommend this item.

Got this and it worked great. Next time I needed it, the tray door would not open. Have done everything to try and get it to open, short of smashing the thing. So the transport is Cheap and Flimsy it is not worth the portability of the unit. Don't Waste Your Money, get something better

The packaging indicated it was for Mac, and it plays media but the software CD included is for PC only so I had to go to a website and download some software which will only let me duplicate 5 minutes of a DVD. I have limited computer skills and so I need to maybe go to the library to get help with the copy process. I would have liked more user friendly assistance than being directed to a couple websites.

Purchased 3.5 months ago and it is DEAD! It had a bad vibration from the start and was very noisy. Plastic case and flimsy tray. I wish I would have done more research instead of just assuming that all LG products were adequate quality. Now I have to go and get another one today to do my taxes.

My old DVD writers were not working on Windows 10. So I needed a replacement. Windows 10 is a huge problem with writers in general and this one is working fine for me. The device tray is like the provided with any laptop (not mechanical. It's ultra light and small. Very portable. I didn't have to install any soft or driver for it to work.

Bought this about a year ago and carry it with me everywhere. I have a PC that needs an external drive. It takes a beating and always works. Any system. Anywhere. It also successfully burned Wii games. One of the few that do it. If it does not work for you... it is USER error. Things can not be more simple. Return your computer... not the drive! Plug it in and it works. ALWAYS.

I have purchased 2 of these over the last year. I thought that I must have damaged the 1st one as it quit working almost immediately. Recently, I purchased another one only to have it quit the day I brought it home. It seems that when you install the included software, it automatically checks for BIOS updates and begins installing without asking and giving you time to shut down any other programs. I don't know if this is only an issue with Windows 10, but if you buy one, DO NOT INSTALL THE LG TOOLBOX or you will wind up with a throw-a-way.

This drive works fine on two of my computers, but will not install on my Asus T100TAF Transformer Book. Windows 10 on all computers, it will show up in file explorer, but does not show in Device Manager, and when you try to open it you get a warning that there is a read security problem, I've try every vender involved and none have any idea what to do, other than that, the drive works fine.
