FoamWerks WC-2001 Foamboard V-Groove Cutter

As a model railroader, I am always looking for cheaper, stronger, and easier to use alternatives to the normal materials of wood and plastic. Foamboard not only meets those criteria, but it is also more lightweight. After buying some inexpensive sheets of foamboard, and chopping them up into little useless bits, I decided to look for a better way to cut and shape the foam. After pouring over Youtube videos, I found the FoamWerks equipment offered by Adorama. I purchased the FoamWerks Straight/Bevel Cutter, Rabbet Cutter, and FoamWerks WC-2001 Foamboard V-Groove Cutter. Since using these items, I have ordered the channel rail also. The first two cutters are pretty straight forward in their use, but the V-Groove Cutter does have a bit of a learning curve. Watching the videos on the tool's proper use helps a lot. Practicing with the cutter on scrap to gain confidence in it's proper use is needed to insure you have the depth set properly for you. Each person will have to reset the depth due to how heavy handed they are. Getting the depth set to the exact distance for a perfect cut without cutting the paper backing takes practice, but once you have mastered the V-Groove Cutter, the finished pieces you make will look exceptional. I would recommend the FoamWerks products to anyone needing professional looking foamboard construction. I am completely happy with my purchases, and feel the products are more than worth the price.
